2 references to Kerry in First Read today.
Just two small ones, but any honorable mention makes my day.

Up until this week, as we've written here before, Democratic lawmakers have for the most part refrained from including Iraq in
their sweeping critiques of President Bush.
A few, like Kerry, have tried to weave Iraq into broader attacks on Bush's competence and approach to governing. But as the October 15 referendum nears, and as Bush himself has sought to bolster Americans' commitment to the war, Democrats are getting more vocal. For the second day in a row, Harry Reid yesterday attacked Bush's approach to the war -- this time on the training of Iraqi security forces, whose ability to take over for US troops is a commonly accepted condition for US troop withdrawal.

One year ago, Bush and his Administration were under fire from challenger Kerry and Democrats over a flu vaccine shortage. Polls suggested that voters were concerned about the shortage but, for the most part, refrained from blaming Bush. If such a shortage occurred today, however, on top of Bush and his Administration's slow response to Hurricane Katrina, public opinion and the political impact could be very different.

1. Did you catch any of Cspan 2 today?
The little I caught before work, Dorgan was on talking about the threat of the Avian Flu, and comparing it to Katrina. He was saying that if we ignore this threat, which could kill millions, it will be no different then ignoring the threat of what a hurricane could do to NOLA.

Kerry was right again.
And I'm glad people are starting to notice.

2. True. Kerry was right
And he is right to put AIDS/HIV funding upfront.

There have been a lot of hints on a major KErry specch on Iraq coming up soon. Real soon. Can't you just feel it? I'm so glad he is talking about Iraq. He hasn't abandoned our people over there or stoped worrying about the Iraqi people. I am really waiting to hear some sanity on what we should be doing. (Not that the idiot will listen, but I still long to hear some sanity on Iraq.)
