If Kerry were President
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 04:45 PM by fedupinBushcountry
This statement was made over and over today at my son's school by his fellow teachers. He called me during a break, gas had climbed 30 cents since this morning. Also, they were saying Kerry would of been in the WH on Sunday preparing for the remnants of Katrina. They are fuming, many activities for students that have travel involved will be canceled.

One last thing, he got an urgent phone call from a friend whose Aunt works for a Gas company, and she said that we here in Virginia will be out of gas in 4 days. Things are really going to hit rock bottom soon. But of course the Stock Market went up 68 points. Energy stocks are up. How disgusting.

Bushie on now reading his script. :puke:

1. bush's speech was ridiculous
he just rambled on and on. It was all political posturing and no real substance. I don't even think he knows what is going on.

2. You're damn right Kerry would have been in the WH on Sunday
preparing for this storm. Hell, I can't think of single former president (Dem or Rep) who wouldn't have been. Idiot Son is the most irresponsible excuse for a president this nation has ever seen. Every single person who voted for him should feel ashamed right now.

I really, really hate the man.

3. Before.
He would probably have sent the NG in New Orleans to help evacuate those who did not have cars.

If they are not ready in the case of an hurricane that was planned one week in advance, how would they react for a terrorist attack with a nuclear or chemical weapon.

4. sending in the NG to help evacuate is an excellent idea
and I'm surprised this didn't happen. The planning for this hurricane was pretty bad, especially since it was supposed to be even more devestating.

5. Oh wow

*sigh* I think if Kerry was in office now he'd be doing everything he could to get more help. I read Sunday that Chavez has offered us cheaper oil, food and water and at that time Bush didn't take up his offer. If Kerry was president he would have done that and would've sent help from other areas down to get the people out I'm sure. He also wouldn't have been off eating cake with McCain (maybe wish him happy birthday) or strumming a guitar. He wouldn't have taken three days to make a speech about this. As Kerry said in the past: where are the leaders of our country?

7. so much would be different if they hadn't stolen Ohio.
I can't imagine Kerry taking five weeks off when so much needs to be done about Iraq and everything, let alone Katrina. Kerry repeated almost the same statement a few weeks ago that he did way back in '71. He said, "Where's the leadership?".

8. Kerry would understand the root of the problem
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 10:55 PM by JI7
environmental issues, in this case specifically global warming , the need for alternative sources of energy.

one of the biggest reasons i support Kerry is because he understands this.

so he would have already understood these things and therefore prepared just like with 9/11.

10. That's why they had to cheat to win
They knew that JK would use the power of the executive to control the corporate corruption rather than (as * does) control the people. D ; )
