Sorry to do this to you - "Does Kerry Owe The Nation An Apology"

I'm ready to crawl in a cave myself ----

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3695522

It reads kinda like Rush Limbaugh with the 'leftist setting' turned on - oversimplification and distortion and so on.

I threw a sarcasm bomb, but if I don't log of DU and get some work done I am gonna be in bad bad shape.

Notice that the more JK does, the more of these kinds of threads pop up (which seem to be at least partly about letting Bush off the hook and assigning blame to JK). . .if the energy spent bashing Kerry was spent organizing against Bush Agenda, how far along w would be.

from all of them, because, frankly, all I want to say is, "get fucked," and I don't think that would be helpful. :P

Seriously, I'm done wasting time on those people. They're attention whores. The one thing guaranteed to attract a ton of comments is a bash Kerry post, so that's what they do. You will never change their minds. They're too invested in being angry.

I refuse to waste my beautiful mind on them. ;-)

Good advice. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, indeed. Or not to have a mind at all! How tragic that would be. (With "props" to Dan Quayle)

(I was smarter than the VP of the US when I was seven years old. How totally sad.)

5. Depends on how you look at it.

Pretty sad for the US, but you're a very smart lady, so good for you!

I was also thinking of Barbara Bush. Remember this one?

http://www.freepressed.com/barb.htm (SATIRE - but the quote is real))

News Flash: Barbara Bush just as shallow and vacuous as Dubya
Matriarch's memoirs reveal Bush inherited his lack of intellectual curiosity from his mother.

Washington, D.C.--At a book signing for her memoir “Reflections: Life after the White House”, America’s favorite grandma admitted that President Bush inherited his lack of intellectual curiosity from her.

“George was always such an uncurious child just like I was,” Barbara Bush said. “It’s such an ugly world full of poverty and hunger. I did the best I could to keep him from questioning too many things.

    She continued.

“As long as ‘those people’ are kept outside of the country clubs and my home, why would I waste time sullying the pristine soul that God gave me? I’m so thankful that George turned out as vacuous as I am.”

Barbara Pierce was born into a life of leisure that would ensure she’d never have to sully her delicate fingers and work a day in her life.

    - snip -

She doesn’t pay attention to what’s happening in Iraq because it disturbs her sensitive palate.

"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths and how many, what day it's going to happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Oh, I mean, it's, not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

President Bush has exhibited the same lack of “intellectual curiosity” and “empathy” as his blue-blood mother.

A little self-mockery is good for the soul. :-)

6. Barbara Bitch
Did she really say all that? I had heard the "beautiful mind" quote before, but not the rest. Is that all true??

There's a word I use for "people" like her, that begins with a 'C' and ends with a 'T'.

7. Agreed.
Here's an actual news quote:

"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths and how many, what day it's going to happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Oh, I mean, it's, not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" -- Barbara Bush, former First Lady, on ABC/Good Morning America, March 18, 2003 speaking about the prospect of news coverage of the war prior to the invasion of Iraq.

8. What a frickin idiot!
I can't believe that Bill Clinton is cozying up to these people. (Even allowing The Bitch to call him her 'adopted son.' Disgusting.) If I was running against Hillary in a Democratic primary I would show those pics of her hubbie with the BFEE over and over and over again. This is not a good thing.

10. As someone who likes Clinton, this is disappointing
Edited on Fri May-20-05 10:32 PM by politicasista
The BFEE isn't doing anything but making him feel worse physically. It's suprising that more peeps are not outraged over this. After all he was "the first black president" according to author Toni Morrison.

13. I try to use humor whenever I can.
Well reasoned argument doesn't work. These people aren't misinformed. They know what's what. They are simply prejudiced against Kerry and just want to piss people off. It's SO LAME.

11. Not touching it.
For some reason -- I think it's this board and very little else () -- I value my DU membership and am not ready to give it up yet, not over a thread with a name like that.

I'm on a 12-step program to stop lurking/reading GD and the like, and so far I've been successful. ;)

(I do know that this kinda creates an "IOU" for me to defend or help out Kerry in some other way, but maybe I'll have the chance to redeem the IOU's in a couple of years.)

Its Bush who should apologize if anyone, after all hes the one who led them to war in Iraq not Kerry. God fucking damn, this is why we lose, we eat our own too easily and in this case willingly.
