Kerry on CSPAN2 now - replay of this afternoon's speech
Edited on Thu May-19-05 09:35 PM by wildflower
ON EDIT: I love his voice. :)

ON EDIT AGAIN: Didn't mean to sound shallow :) - the speech itself is awe-inspiring as well.

3. it's ok to sound shallow here--
we all have our moments!

I had to see the replay in order to process everything he had to say, because I too get kind of "distracted" by his looks and voice and can't really focus! It was a knock-out speech, even the third time through! He speaks with conviction and the authority of someone who knows whats what.

(His voice is very reassuring to me. Like someone is on the lookout for the enemy. Aragorn has his sword at the ready and is watching at the gate. :) )

4. Third time through? You are dedicated! :)
Thanks again for letting me know about this replay!

Boy he was fired up!

He does seem so strong and reassuring. I guess I haven't gotten with the program (the one that says he is supposed to be seen as weak and French or something).

:hi:

12. Well, I had to stop myself from looking for all the "truth telling" signs
But they were all there, as always. (Finger pointing, open palms, eyes looking directly at you, the open palm to the chest that you mentioned)

Not related: but I have the Daily Show on and Jon Steward played Bush's thank you speech before leaving Latvia - not many truth signs and the short speech made little sense. Infuriating after Kerry's brilliant speech. Steward then said that Bush writes all his thank you speeches using the "freedom magnetic board" then showed one of those white plastic magnetic boards where you can rearrange the pieces each of which have a word written on them.

15. oh I know, but it's fun
I have a new tool to use whenever I watch someone give a speech on Cspan. I have to try it on the repubs. I haven't focused on them (due to nausea) but I don't think they are as demonstrative as the Dems lately. I don't think a lot of them have their heart in it.

6. He was spell binding
The sense of history, and his obvious love for the constitution and how the government is suppose to work was so evident. His speech was so strong in its call for conscience and honesty. This would be a great speech for high school government (civics) or constitutional law classes.

He looked great and sounded passionately involved on this issue. His tone when he commented that as President he wouldn't have even thought about doing something like this really demonstrates really showed his outrage.

14. hm, I can imagine the right wing twisting that part
They will say that he is mad because it's "sour grapes". But it needed to be said--it simply cried out to be said. He should say things like this anyway.
