I dont this idea of targetting Steny Hoyer, Hoyer was wrong yes on the bankruptcy bill but he is a good guy and I don't think money that could be used to attack republicans who 95% of the time side with the white house rather than someone who like Hoyer is right way more than he is wrong. BTW I think the bankruptcy bill is bullshit too just as much as anyone. I also think though I am not what you'd call a Hoyer fan, hes not a guy that should be targeted IMO plus they'd be wasting money, hes very popular I believe.

1. If the end result ends up being a Repuke elected to Hoyer's seat
I don't see how anyone could call that a "victory."

2. and i don't want to spend resources on beating other Dems
when we are in a minority . even if Hoyer is replaced with a more liberal democrat who ends up winning the Republicans will still be in control and have the power to pass their policies.

if we can get enough Democrats to take control then Nancy Pelosi would have some power over what gets voted on.

3. Its a waste of resources
Hoyer is popular and well entrenched, hes also not a bad guy. I agree, we are the minority not the majority, people in LBN are applauding this stupidity.

5. You know, when folks say that the Dems were never so unified as in 2004
when they complain that Kerry should have been able to win, I look at things like this and think "This is unity?"

It was a false unity. We were never truly unified. And it was transparent as hell.

Edited on Fri Apr-15-05 07:12 PM by JohnKleeb
This isnt unity at all. People know so little about Hoyer, they just see this vote and think hes a bad guy, hes a good guy. This is a waste of our resources as well.

21. That is very true
Why would anybody vote for a candidate if it appeared half his own voters didn't even want him. Who was in control? The ones who support strong security or the ones who oppose every military action the US takes.

I keep telling these lefties to please go Green. Build a strong voice there that is FOR things, and let the Democratic Party create its own identity. We'd all be alot better for it.

I don't like this bankruptcy bill either, but I don't want to lose any Dem seats over it.

8. I know. It pisses me off. I'm sure I have an e-mail from them, I think
I will go unsubscribe and tell them why.

This is crap but it seems all too common with a certain segment of people on the left.

They would rather be pure and a perpetual minority then a big tent who may actually be able to control a branch or two (or three) of government.

(I'm not happy about the Bankruptcy Bill either)

and doesn't really have to do with the bankruptcy bill.

14. And his vote, in a Dem majority
would assure Dems are in charge of when bills come up and committee chairs and other all-important stuff. We need more Dems. We don't need to be going after our own. This is dumb.

There's a great monument to him in our great state capital Annapolis or as we Bawlmorans say, Naplus.

seen he can't be classified as anything other than a good guy. I don't know why they decided to target him when many other dems voted the same way. The only thing I can think is that they are trying to put our leaders on notice that they are watching, without causing too much damage. Which makes me wonder how big the attack is.
