Kerry and McCain Draft Senate Resolution Urging Transition in Egypt
A draft U.S. Senate resolution on Thursday called on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to transfer power to an inclusive interim caretaker government.

The draft resolution, sponsored by Republican Senator John McCain and Democratic Senator John Kerry, does not specifically call on Mubarak to resign.

It calls on Mubarak to immediately begin an "orderly and peaceful transition to a democratic political system."

It would get the Senate behind what Kerry called for days ago I was not impressed with all the comments McCain has made. The comments he made earlier were good, but look at some recent comments - http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20030499-503544.html

This likely is good for bipartisanship, but I worry that McCain is a loose cannon.

Looking for McCain stuff, I found another JK interview from last Friday. He really was way ahead of everyone in reacting. http://www.bloomberg.com/video/66272248/

Here is a HP article on it, using a fantastic Kerry/McCain photo from the past. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/03/john-kerry-mccain-mubarak-resolution_n_818330.html
