Just an update of actual Senate business.

1. Thanks, TayTay!
It's great being able to read this news here without having to go hunting.

And of course he opposes it. :-) I'd expect nothing less.

2. Update
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 11:45 AM by TayTay
They are voting on the Feingold Amendment to the Bankruptcy Bill.
Kerry voted for the Ameendment.

Feingold wanted to put a floor on the to establish uniform Federal homestead floor for the elderly of $75.000.00 (Keep this from creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.)

Will go down to defeat. (Edit: It did 40-59)

I hope the Dems challengers in 2006 run on this. Rethugs hate the elderly, if they are poor.

3. Listening to Stephanie Miller this morning?
They were doing a game where they added the words "if you're rich" to the ends of sentences to make them true.

Example: The U.S. has the best health care system in the world - if you're rich.

The U.S. always takes good care of its seniors - if they're rich.

etc.

4. No, I'm wonkish today
I'm actually listening to the Senate non-debate on a C-Span stream. This bill offends me to no end and I am intensely interested to see whcih Dems sell out their people on it.)

(TayTay pushes big thick eyeglasses back up on nose) but I'm not geeky. Really. BTW, I have those complete transcripts of those Committee Hearings from Late Feb, if anyone needs them. (Okay, I am a little geeky for reading transcripts, I admit it.)

8. Boy Teddy K is upset!
Poor bastard. Has to watch all that stuff he spent a lifetime working for go down to Rethug greed. I feel for my esteemed Senior Senator.

9. Wow!
I hope Teddy doesn't explode.

BTW, did you notice, AD, how the Rethugs have flip-lopped. When the Defense of Marriage Act passed, it did so because it was too dangerous to leave such an important moral issue to the States.

When it comes to protecting families from medical debt, veterans from getting relief for debt, protecting a basic floor of $75,000 home exemption for senior citizens, and so forth, suddenly, we leave this up to the States. What a bunch of bastards.

So far, Rethugs have opposed all of these. Remember this in 2006.

12. Orrin Hatch
just called populists stupid. If you had a brain, then you would vote Rethug. (I think it's the mind-control drugs Hatch makes his Universities and Colleges use on their students. Clears up that nasty condition that causes free-thinking.)

Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 01:33 PM by angrydemocrat
He is so damn full of shit it is unreal. I tell you the republicans have to keep the mouthwash companies in business because with as much shit as they spew out of their mouth everytime they open it is unreal! And if they didn't keep a bottle in their suit pocket at all times to take a swig after they speak they truly would smell like a major sewer system! :puke:

14. Thank goodness for Obama
Takes the horrible taste of Hatch and Cronyn out of my ears. (Yes, mixed metaphors. But I never put the words 'taste of' and Rethug names in the same sentence. Not ever.)
