interesting JK email (re 2010/2012 MA campaigns)
. . happening THIS WEEKEND (Feb 26 (this evening) to Feb28) at the Weston Waltham. I can't go (among several other reasons, Sen. Kerry's missive just arrived in my email inbox today. . sigh), but if there are other local folks who can go (and didn't get this message themselves), here's a link:
Note that the Saturday program (which looks especially good) is sponsored by Sen. Kerry
Roger Lau will be there, among lots of others
See program at http://massdems.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59
Looking at the program, I'd almost even believe that the MA Dems might be able to get their act together this time! And I'm delighted (see bold highlight below) that they're thinking about 2012 Senate campaign . My favorite agenda item for the Saturday program is the last session of the day: "Assessing Campaigns-Defining features of Winning -and Losing- Campaigns"
(Boy, do I have opinions on that topic! I suspect that the discussion will be, shall we say, heated :)).

Sen. Kerry's letter:
I wanted to drop you a quick note about a great opportunity this weekend. If you've got some free time, the Democratic Campaign Institute is a fantastic program put on by the Massachusetts Democratic Party, and it's happening this weekend in Westin Waltham Hotel in Waltham. You'll meet a lot of other committed Mass Dems, and learn an amazing amount about politics and campaigning.

For example, if you're interested in how campaigns work, there's a whole day on Saturday with panel discussions with the best political hands in Massachusetts. You can click here to see that lineup. Or, if you're interested in grassroots organizing, click here to see another amazing lineup.

There's also lunch with Deval Patrick, and a cocktail party organized by the Voter Activation Network. And, if you can make it to Waltham tonight, there's entertainment from Jimmy Tingle, a talk by Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh, and an open networking party where you can get to know other people as passionate about politics and the issues as you are.

We've got some important campaigns coming up in Massachusetts, from Deval's reelection this year to a US Senate race in 2012, and, with this training, you can be armed with the knowledge you need to help us win these races.

If you'd like to register, click here and register right away. Or just come down to the Westin Hotel in Waltham early tomorrow morning to register.

1. I went to that seminar in 2006.
Setti Warren and Ayanna Pressley were there presenting. It was pretty good.
