OT, sort of...
Edited on Tue Dec-08-09 09:51 PM by YvonneCa
... I need to vent:

Mike Pence of Indiana and Darryl Issa of California. Both must be angling to run for President in 2012, because they are getting extra annoying.

Issa was on CNN with Campbell Brown discussing climate change like he invented it. If he keeps it up, he could co-opt (media wise) the issue Kerry and Gore have championed forever. That would be criminal. Issa is a jerk.

Then there is Pence. He was just on the Newshour discussing Afghanistan strategy like HE invented it. He couldn't have come up with a 'way forward' on his own if his life depended on it. But he is playing at being the expert.

Both of these guys rubber stamped GWB for eight years. Until now, they have been for big oil, big business, and neither ever even heard of Copenhagen. :) They sure have a lot of nerve.

It's just frustrating to see how hard JK has worked...pretty much behind the scenes... on these issues (and Al Gore) and these guys just pop in and try to steal the glory. How dare they!

I think I'm watching too much TV... :7

issues.

This said, it will become interesting to see how Campbell Brown will be able to keep her position in CNN once her husband starts working for any of these guys.

This said, I am taking a break: between the announcement of a non-explained compromise (could be terrible or good) on HCR and the nomination of Martha Coakley (I guess I have to be happy to see another woman in the Senate-- unlikely that she succeeds losing the election to a douchebag like Brown), I need a rest to get some energy and will to fight again and the climate will be to deadly tonight. (my son is making a presentation about Langston Hugues. You come to regret people able to really fight for progressive ideals)

4. Dan Senor, a former Bush aide involved in Iraq policy.

He was an adviser to Romney in 2008.

Iraq

In early 2003, Senor joined the Administration of George W. Bush, as deputy to White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan.<4>. In the lead-up to the Iraq war and during the war, he was a Pentagon and White House advisor based in Doha, Qatar at U.S. Central Command Forward; he was subsequently based in Kuwait working with General Jay Garner during the final days of the war and in southern Iraq when the Iraqi regime fell; and formally re-located to Baghdad on April 20, 2003, when he traveled with General Garner’s team in the first post-war civilian convoy. Senor remained in Iraq until the summer of 2004.

While in Kuwait and Iraq, Senor was an adviser to both the Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance and later the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), for which he was Chief Spokesman and Senior Advisor. Senor was one of the longest serving civilians in Iraq. For his service, he was awarded the Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award, one of the Pentagon’s highest civilian honors.

In September 2004, the White House controversially employed Senor to coach and ghostwrite the speeches of Iraq's interim prime minister Iyad Allawi during his visit to the US, in an effort to enhance the Bush reelection campaign. At the same time, Senor appeared on cable news programs claiming that Allawi's positive remarks (vetted by Senor) supported the Bush Administration's rosy view of the Iraq occupation.
