Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!! Sometimes the Boston Herald cracks me up.

Read the article about how Kerry has embarrassing pics of him with "co-eds". Then look at the photo.

I mean what's the big deal, guys? This is the best line:

“I think the caption should read: The senator is pictured discussing climate change legislation with two constituents. He was flattered until they told him he looked just like their grandfather,” joked Kerry spokesgal Jodi Seth.

So how many points will his approval ratings go UP as a result of this article? Hey, the Big Advisor to Obama, the Big Diplomat, the Powerful Senator, took time out to chat with trick or treaters. Guess he's not so stuffy after all.

1. Interestingly, this ridiculous "article" was too much even for most Herald commenters!

Nice comment there from at least one of our own, but quite a few telling the "writers" to take their trash to the City Dump. I actually think it's a sweet picture -- the girls look so excited and it's nice that JK came to the door.

Edited to add that I hope that wasn't Jodi Seth's only comment on the picture -- I prefer David Wade's brand of humor.

5. The way I read it
I think they made up that quote from Jodi Seth, that does not sound like a Kerry spokesperson at all. They hate it when JK gets any attention, which he has in the last month, so here they go trying to bring him down. It's pathetic and the one's that authored it are truly the most pathetic so called journalists, geez, must be nice to make up stories and get paid for doing it.

6. You might be right
That quote seems off in many ways. It also must show they really have nothing real on him as that photo, outside his own home when in fact he is known to have given out candy in the past, is as standard a photo of 2 girls and their Senator. The funny thing is it likely means the Emerson kids went there knowing he could be passing out treats and they looked delighted to see him.

2. The comments are interesting - most of the people who dislike Kerry think this is dumb
There are several obnoxious comments though disparaging Teresa, which is disgusting. This is so obviously what it is that even the right wingers aren't going for it.

I agree with you - and he not only took time out to chat with trick or treaters, they were MASSACHUSETTS trick or treaters. He was photographed with lots of people in Newton the next day too! (I would bet that there were likely some photographers with little kid trick or treaters as well.) Here's a link to Warren's facebook page where the Sunday entries have lots of nice pictures - http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/settiwarren?ref=nf

Last year, Kerry joked at the Hyannis rally before the election about a little kid tricker treater coming to the door with torn clothes and looking incredibly beat up, Kerry said that he asked him what he was and was told that he "the Bush economy".

4. It was another attempt to picture his unfavorably and it backfired.

He was probably flattered that they wanted a picture with him.

7. Maybe Joanie Vennochi is moonlighting writing at the Herald
That picture is fine. I think the Herald is really reaching trying to make something out of that one. It's a sweet pic.

Gawd, I know Boston is "puritan" city, but even Cotton Mather couldn't find fault with that pic.

8. Maybe this is an attempt to get him to try and alienate some of his base
by suggesting that he needs to stay away from the young voters.

9. Which will never happen as he really seems best speaking to
crowds of college kids. I also bet there were pictures of him with even younger future voters.

10. Yes, I bet there were. Some cute little trick or treaters.
There were people tweeting about him being around giving out candy on Halloween to all the kids.

11. I was being silly.
The Herald overreached on what was a "nothing" pic and tried to make something out of nothing.

Seriously, that was the raciest pic they could find? Must have been a slow news night for the Herald. That pic was sweet, but nothing else, as noted elsewhere.

The Herald was fishing for a story and came up with nothing. It happens.
