Kerry will be at Obama climate change speech in Boston Tomorrow

Roll Call is pessimistic that they will get a vote to the floor this year. One problem may be Senator Rockefeller.

Likewise, Commerce, Science and Transportation Chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), whose panel shares jurisdiction over climate change legislation, said he does not expect to mark up a bill this year.

Kerry will attend President Barack Obama’s speech on climate change in Boston on Friday and is scheduled to meet Monday with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in a continued effort to woo the moderate Republican to support a climate change bill. The bipartisan duo co-wrote a New York Times opinion piece last week, in which they announced, “We are also convinced that we have found … a framework for climate legislation to pass Congress.”

Kerry is co-author of a sweeping climate change bill along with Environment and Public Works Chairman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.). Boxer’s panel will host several Obama Cabinet secretaries next week for a series of hearings on climate change. Boxer has said she will schedule a markup after next week’s hearings.

of the committees by Thanksgiving.

He's going to give a speech to the CFR and meet with Reid AND be in Boston at Obama's speech tomorrow? That guy must have more frequent flyer miles than a homing pigeon! :-)

Nothing in the article saying why he doesn't expect any action on the bill this year.
