I remember seeing a story about Brundage's loyalty to JK, for which I honor her. I hadn't known about her role on Obama's campaign staff. This is just generally a nice story from Cape Ann!
The trek for the third pair of siblings began in 2002 when Amy Brundage of Rockport, now 27, who was attending the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester at the time, took a internship in U.S. Sen. John Kerry's Washington, D.C., office.
After graduating in 2003 with a dual major in English and political science, Brundage returned to Kerry's D.C. office to work with his campaign team.
After the election Brundage stayed in Kerry's D.C. office until October 2007 when one of Obama's D.C. staffers was called to Chicago to help with his campaign.
Brundage took over that spot, serving as Obama's Senate press secretary, and for the duration of Obama's campaign served as a regional communications director.
Her younger brother, Daniel, 22, graduated from Stonehill College in Eastham in 2008 with a major in economics.
This past summer, he applied to work with Obama's campaign and in July he was placed St. Louis, Mo., a field organizer.
Now, Amy and Daniel are part of Obama's transition team and are hoping to be offered positions as part of his White House staff.
Their parents, William and Marita, who both still live in Rockport, will be travelling to the capital to watch the inauguration with their children.
William Brundage said he and his wife are looking forward to "watching history being made."
Forgive me for going all pop culture on you, but it's all so "West Wing", sometimes I can hardly believe I'm not dreaming!
