Hi, everyone!

This is Jeff Santos. I just wanted to let everyone know that we are taking an extremely important step toward bringing progressive voices to the Boston airwaves. Every Monday through Friday, beginning on Monday, December 1, 2008, I will be broadcasting my talk show live on WWZN (1510 AM) from 6 to 9 a.m., and Peter B. Collins will be heard live on the same station from 6 to 9 p.m. You can also hear our shows by streaming live from the following website:

http://www.1510wwzn.com/ (click "Listen Live")

You can hear Peter B. Collins from his own website as well:

http://www.peterbcollins.com/

We'd love to hear from you, so please call into both shows:

Jeff Santos Show: 1-617-237-1234
Peter B. Collins: 1-888-5PETERB (1-888-573-8372)

We will add another national show in January. Our goal is to have a 24/7 lineup of progressive voices in Boston in the very near future. Stay tuned for further information. Thank you for your continued support! Please tune in and spread the word!

Jeff Santos

I haven't listened yet - this is the first I'd heard of this, but it's about freaking time. Right now the 1510wwzn.com website is nothing but sports talk, so I'm not totally sure I believe it yet, but I'll try to listen tomorrow morning and report back.

1. Thank you for this, Whome!
I definitely want to hear what you find out! I've gotten used to NPR and I like it, but I miss the slightly spicier flavor of progressive talk. I now only get to hear it once or twice a year when I visit my parents on the West Coast. I know I could listen to streaming, but we absolutely need an actual radio alternative here in Boston, of all places!!!

2. That would be wonderful
It always seems weird to visit a place like Boston and not have access to progressive radio. I hope that this works out and takes off. You know there's a big audience just waiting to listen.

3. Progressive talk radio? What's that? Only time it was ever available
where I lived was when 2 hours of the Ed Schultz show was broadcast out of Norfolk, VA. Then it was canceled. Nothing in Georgia, of course. I actually have a conservative talk radio guy living in my neighborhood. He broadcasts out of an FM rock station in the morning. Sigh. Yeah, it's because we didn't have enough right wing options on radio already that now even the place you go to hear a little Led Zeppelin is polluted with the stuff. :sarcasm:
