Great Radio interview that Kerry gave last night with Dan Rea
Here is the link to listen:
http://wbz.com/NightSide-with-Dan-Rea/694627

In the interview:
1) Kerry gave the clearer answer to staying 6 years as Senator
2) He was then asked about the nasty ads in the Presidential race - and both sides were mentioned. Kerry was specifically asked about the Republican claim that McCain can't type due to war injuries. Kerry answered that he didn't think so that Mccain can and does sign autograph's and spoke of having a press person who uses only one finger - as he was asked what he would advise Obama - Kerry said he would advise both sides to get to the issues - which he then layed out. (especilly good comment on McCain once speaking eloquently against it then more recently voting for a bill that allows it there was a brief discussion of 2004 VP offer - and the answer was again the same)
3) He was asked about the Worcester Telegram's problem with the LIHEAP claims - said that the Governor put out wrong numbers, but it has been corrected and that the money is there and they are working to get more because it will be needed.
4) Spoke of meeting with Chevron (and Joe Kennedy) on getting cheaper oil. Also spoke to leader in Saudia Arabia for a rebate on some of the windfall profits. No American company will to talk about doing anything like this.
5) Offshore drilling There is likely to be some in the energy plan because otherwise they won't get the Republicans' votes. Not sure how he will vote as the language is not final. Spoke of the leases not used. He and host agreed they need a sunset clause on leases - "Use it or lose it"
6) Asked about teh Republican/Democratic race to blame the other on finacial melt down Kerry said they have only had the Congress two years and the Republicans have blocked everything in the Senate - he spoke of needing 60 and having only 51 Senators on a good day
7) He finessed a question on how dissapointed he was in Leiberman to speeak about issues
8) Said the AMT was never meant to hit people it is now hitting

Then there were three questions taken:
1) Asked about Kerry backing money to faith based organizations, which EOR doesn't
Nice answer. Kerry stressed that the law prevented the money going to promoting religion That it funded things like Catholic charities doing things like soup kitchens and helping the poor.

2) He was asked about how he can say he listened to his constituents and his endorsing Obama when MA voted for HRC Answered that there is a difference between his votes in the Senate and his personal vote at the ballot box - which he made publicly and that vote was his.

3) An EORian called and started a spiel that he was voting against him because he was condescending to EOR in the debate and was too wealthy - the host tried to cut the guy off - Kerry spoke of EOR's houses and then made an impassioned case for what he has done for the poor - mentioning youthbuild, chidren's health etc.
(Afterwards the host was clearly upset the guy did this)

The host then asked Kerry what he thought about the Salvati/Malone case (I had no idea what this was - http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/2/3/44753/54107 ) Kerry said that as a lawyer he thought the Attorney General should not be political.

He then told Kerry he wanted to ask him if he would do something that Host said he asked EOR and EOR wouldn't commit to. To press legislation that would remove J Edgar Hoover's name off the FBI building - Kerry said he would vote for it - listed stuff that just came out that showed Hoover did some bad stuff.
