...:7 . It's going to be okay. :) We have all been through tough times before, and we ARE going to survive this VP nomination thing.
I (thinking back to my disappointment in 2004 when Gore didn't run and then Kerry didn't win) am bracing myself to not have my choice as VP. As someone here said earlier, it's not up to me. If it was...believe me...the last eight years would be redone.
I try to remember (and it was sad) when JK decided on a Campaign for the Country...as opposed to running for president in 2008. I was (and am) disappointed, but I respect the patriotism required to make that decision. It was putting the needs of the country first...not personal ambition. And, for me, it's why the Clinton role irritates...she didn't do that.
I like to think that Kerry, Obama, AND Al Gore see eye-to-eye on this (sounds like a 'conspiracy theory', but in a good way). :) Maybe I'm deluding myself, but I see all of them as mature enough to work together to elect a Democrat...because that's what is good for the country. The country is in a bad place, IMO...and now we're in a conflict with Russia. In that framework...it's not about disrespecting someone for not having such-and-such a role, but being okay with whatever is necessary (even punditry, if one is good at it).
Do I HATE to see Kerry in any role other than President...YES. I absolutely do. It kills me sometimes, because (as we all know) he is SO deserving and would be so good at it.
But I'm trying to continue...as always...to trust his judgment on this. And Obama's and Gore's.
Anyway...all of you here are wonderful. You give me hope, just reading your words, knowing how knowledgeable you are, and seeing how much you all care. :grouphug:
