The parts of the article I agree with:

Pickens is a swiftboater
Pickens stands to profit from his new plan
The Democrats are inexplicably cozying up to Pickens

The first paragraph, I agree with:

Formerly reviled for funding the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" campaign against Sen. John Kerry, he's now adored by the Left — unfortunately, for trying to gaslight the rest of us on energy policy.

This is absolutely disgusting:

Pickens' bad-mouthing of our use of oil sounds like it comes from Al Gore and his fellow Democrats and extreme Greens — and guess who Pickens' new friends are?

Pickens told the National Journal that, "I think I would be for Al Gore for energy czar ."

Pickens said that he and Gore agree on about 95 percent of their respective energy plans.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invited Pickens to speak before the Democratic Caucus.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says that, while Pickens was once a "mortal enemy," they are now friends because of the oilman's conversion to alternative energy.

Then there's Carl Pope, the head of the Sierra Club, who not only flies in Pickens' private jet but writes paeans about him on the liberal Huffington Post blog.

"T. Boone Pickens is out to save America," Pope wrote on July 3.

Hey, I've got a better idea: let's invite Pickens to the Senate Democratic Caucus meeting, and have Sen. Kerry run the meeting. Won't that be a dandy of an idea? And the thing is Kerry is a very forgiving person, and has even cited Newt Gingrich and Matthew Dowd in the past. Notice, that he hasn't mentioned Pickens? That means something.

Okay, so back to the cognitive dissconnect: the REST of the article would make Sen. Inhofe smile. It's just utter crap. And, of course, he only says Kerry was "allegedly" swiftboated. So the guy is a total jerk and no friend, yet he points out what we have seen. The Left and the environmental movement are making utter fools of themselves.

1. It's stuff like this that makes it clear that wealthy assholes get away with everything, why Gore
and Kerry never became president, and why Bush is getting away with an illegal war that has triggered the senseless and violent killing of hundreds of thousands of people.

So they question Sam Fox and let Pickens off the hook? I don't give a shit is Chicken Pickens starts laying golden eggs, he's a despicable bastard.

2. You're absolutely right. They are being inconsistent in regards
to Fox vs. Pickens, and Pickens is WORSE than Fox. He gave more money and bragged about it, even recently. If I had known this, I would have put the question out there in "Ask the Speaker" at Netroots Nation.

3. I love your idea about having Sen. Kerry run the meeting.

For sure, the Dems (and the Sierra Club, too! Good God!) cozying up to Pickens is inexplicable. They really are making fools of themselves. Most interesting (and not surprising) indeed that JK has not mentioned him.

5. What all these new chums of Pickens are forgetting, apparently,
is that Pickens deliberately helped create the current mess - and now is trying to maximize his profit from that mess.

Kind of analogous to arms dealers profiting from war, hmmm?
