You guys, the baby has pneumonia

There's been some horrible crud going around and we all got it last week. I guess hers has turned into pneumonia. They took her to the doctor last week, the ER Saturday, but they didn't do a chest x-ray until yesterday. So they took her over to the NICU yesterday. I'm staying here with my grandson. We don't know if it's bacterial or viral yet, so don't know how long she'll be in the hospital. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.

1. nothing scarier than a little one getting so sick

I'll be thinking of her. My son got Salmonella at 11 months, and had to be hospitalized.He was in a seizure for more than an hour . we were so scared we were numb. But he came through OK. For whatever it's worth, I also had pneumonia before the age of 2, and it also took a while to diagnose, and, from everything my parents said later on (I don't remember any of this myself, needless to say),it was pretty clear that they were also scared, but I also came through OK (though my brother and son might disagree :)).

Great that the family is there with your little one. It makes a huge difference.

She's in my thoughts and prayers, for sure.

It's rough. My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family. I'm so glad that you can be with your grandson. It's such a big help. I remember how grateful I was that my mom could be with my daughter when my son was sick.

She was doing a lot better yesterday, they had hoped she would keep improving and be able to come home today. But she leveled off. I'm not really surprised, this crud has done that to all of us, one day good, the next not. But she is eating and getting better, so that's the main thing. This little ones are so tiny and so resistant at the same time. It has always impressed me.
