I'm sick of Gannon-gate!
What is this anyway, the National Enquirer? The whole home page is full of Gannon threads. :( I mean, enough is enough. Yes we should hold *'s feet to the fire on this, but it's gone beyond that, I think. They are neglecting real Dem news that is also going on. Sorry to be so cranky! And, thanks to this group I have a Gannon-free zone. :)

1. Tired of Gannon and all the homosexual affairs.
Really don't want a repeat of Monicagate sexually explicit descriptions of acts between governmental officials of any party. It's just sick and beyond the point.

2. I think it's hilarious
but there have been too many threads about it. It takes away the hilarity factor.

3. i love it!
the whole story is so weird....not just the sex factor, but mainly the fact that he's a just a fake reporter from a fake news agency hired purposely to be a 'cushion' at WH press conferences, let in with no security clearance!!! there has to be a reason for all of it, which is what everyone is trying to figure out.

7. It's a window in to how awful these guys truly are
Total disregard for what a free press is supposed to mean. Nobody acts as a check on these guys, they believe they are above the law. I hope they get their asses nailed to the wall for this. (Gawd, is it me or does scandal hover above these bastards all the time. Gawd, look at Ridge and his checking with a pollster before going out on the campaign trail last year. Now tell me again that the strategically placed 'terror alerts' during the campaign last year weren't a cyncial plant. Bastards.)

I don't want to see the gay angle overplayed on this. I don't care that Gannon was gay. (Or what he did in his own time.) I care that he is a fake, that he got press clearance as patronage and that he abused it. I hope we don't get sidetracked on the 'gay prostitute' part of the story. Believe it or not, that is the part that least screwed the country.

4. It's actually really important
If I weren't sick, I'd gather together the articles that I think actually hit the nail on the head. The last paragraph in Maureen Dowd's column for sure. But this could be the thing that shined the light on all the Bush propaganda and fake news garbage, all at one time. That's worth the hoopla. A gay hooker in the press corps scandal, bah. That's nothing. But DU goes for the sensational, just like the rest of the population. Always has. Not only do people ignore the other important things, but usually they miss the important part of the story itself too.

5. I think it is beginning to catch fire in the MSM,

and I am grateful. Anything that brings these guys down. I don't care what it takes. If it takes a sex scandal to interest people, give it to them . I hope they find a blue jockstrap!

6. Think DUers are trying to show the hypocrisy of the right
Edited on Fri Feb-18-05 10:46 AM by TheDonkey
and Gannongate is a blatant example of that. Also a sex scandal has nothing to do with anything BUT like Monica it seems fair that the MSM should skewer Bush for it.

The bigger issue that Democrats need to grab ahold of is the Propoganda-gate that this administration has been exposed in just the last few months. Tax payer propoganda is plain wrong.
