comments on JK in MA section of Obama blog
This may be old news to some of you, but YvonneCa's mention of JK coming to CA (thanks, Yvonne-- I passed on the news to friends in SF and Seattle area. . ) led me to check out the MA section of the Obama blog. So for the first time I saw the comments on JK's endorsement of Obama. There are a few DU-crazy comments (you know the type well.. sigh), but most are quite nice, thanking JK for his action, and for his wisdom and courage..recommended if you need a lift (but have your filters in place for the few DU types. .). Words used like "powerful speech", "amazing speech", "wow", "tour de force", "exciting" etc etc etc. Also an amusing comment on Menino ("shades of Michael Curley") for taking the wrong side on this one :)

My letter to Senator Kerry:

Senator Kerry,

I wanted to thank you for your endorsement for Senator Barack Obama. I always believed that you are a man of conviction and courage to stand up for what you believe in and once again, you displayed that today.

As a 33 year old veteran who loves his country dearly. . .. .
. . . The momentum for change is rolling and it cannot be stopped. Seeing you join this great cause warms my heart and only adds to our resolve to do what ever is necessary to put the United States of America back to where it needs to be. . . .

Thank you again, Senator!

I've always been impressed with Senator Kerry's leadership and passion for his country. However, my respect for the man has only increased after he came to the same decision that I did and endorsed Barack Obama today in Charleston. He's a great advocate for the candidate, as evidenced by his beautiful speech. , ,

John Kerry

It does not surprise me that he has endorsed Obama. I was a Kerry supporter from the start - before Iowa - and I've come to know this man and his heart.

He is my personal hero and it means a lot to me that he is doing this.

Obama, you've got a warrior on your side now. And I don't just mean John Kerry. :-)

THANK YOU JOHN KERRY!
By Joyce Jan 10th 2008 at 12:54 pm EST
Thank You for bringing this outstanding young man, Barack Obama, to our national attention in the first place. And, Thank You for backing him now.

Senator Kerry is a veteran of many wars. He served valiantly in Vietnam. Then, like many disillusioned vets, he had the courage to speak out against that war. In 2004 he endured another war -- the ugly smear campaign waged against him by the Republicans. Unfortunately for our country the Bush machine won that one.

So, John Kerry, we Obama supporters welcome your warrior experience and wisdom! We need it to fight the Clinton machine. And, that done, to fight whatever the Republicans throw at Obama, our Democratic Presidential Candidate.

Dear Senator Kerry,

Today was the second time I was moved to tears by a speech you gave. (The first was your incredibly gracious concession speech in 2004.) I wanted to thank you for bringing Barack Obama to the nation's attention in 2004, and thank you for endorsing him today for President. . . . .

Impetus of Hope |
By Robert from Arlington, VA Jan 10th 2008 at 1:50 pm EST
I want to share with everyone the contents of an email that I just sent to Senator Kerry:

Dear Senator Kerry,

You have taken a profoundly wise and courageous stand at the right moment. The Democratic Party has a chance to embrace the Future. We must not throw it away in an attempt to cling on to what is left of the past. I fervently hope that your endorsement of Senator Obama will show the way to a glorious renewal of my beloved party, the Democratic Party.

Four years ago, I worked very hard for you and Senator Edwards. What is happening now with this impetus of hope is what I wanted then. I was profoundly disappointed - devastated, in fact - that the country was not ready at that time.

Those of us who have embraced the impetus of hope want a new vision for our country, and Senator Obama embodies that vision.

Thank you,

Rob Dubow

I too was bowled over by Kerry's speech. He really means it!! Remember it was Kerry who picked Obama to deliver the Keynote speech at the convention, the one that catapulted him to the national stage.
Thank you!

John Kerry's speech was possibly the best endorsement speech that I have ever heard!! The passion and emotion kept me on the edge of my seat urging for more. I have never been so prouder to have this man in our corner.

Barack has made political endorsements cool again. Still it takes courage to breack from the establishment. Sen. Kerry shows that courage.

Obama STILL a uniter after NH 2nd place |
By Gobama from New York, NY Jan 10th 2008 at 2:41 pm EST
Obviously Kerry isn't new to Obama's position.. . .
Kerry saw the 'swift boating' of Obama by the Clintons & was disgusted.
Those factors sealed the deal for a true American patriot who puts his country first!

KERRY'S ENDORSEMENT IS NOT PERSONAL, BUT PATRIOTIC!
