Kerrycrat help please
I posted this in GDPol, zippo. Never forget that we won Iowa because we worked harder. We made sure to connect to the voters, rounded up local support, listened to the campaign, stayed on message, and just flat out-worked them. This won't take much time, I hope you'll help gather the groups and then spread them around so we can be more effective in our fight. Have you seen the RW ad promoting privatization? It's very good and we've got to get organized. I'm frustrated and don't mean to take it out on you guys. I feel like they're trying to push us out completely.

Here's a copy of my post:

This pretty well sums up my idea. I'll make sure I've got a page that lists all the groups and campaigns we come up with. And I suppose we could put our collection in Demopedia too, maybe there's already a section or project on this. If so, maybe someone would be so kind as to point me to it. I'm aware of Privatize This, There Is No Crisis, and the DNC letter writing campaign.

"Just last night I posted the AFL-CIO SSI Campaign to pressure Edward D. Jones to admit to the money they stand to gain on privatization. It appears their campaign worked, although I'm going to leave the links for a while, just to make sure! Next step is exposing this "Alliance for Worker Retirement Security" so people know who is blowing smoke so they can move their ass. It also seems to me that this is another example of where the Democratic Party activists fail miserably. We all should have known about this campaign and the union "rallies". I love how the union "stages rallies" while other groups have "dissident protests". Anyway, I had planned to make a post for everybody to help gather all the groups against privatization, so I may as well start it off here. That idea came when reading a Farmer's Union letter where their President was sure to include the fact that they had 117 groups opposing the budget cuts. How many groups do we have opposing privatization? No clue and we need to get one in a hurry."

1. I wish I could help organize rallies,
but I stink at that sort of thing. It's a great idea, though. Pray that someone picks up on it.

3. Just looking for links
Right now I'm just looking for groups that have come out against privatization. I had no idea AFL-CIO had that campaign and wonder if we're missing other stuff. So I'm just looking to make a page of groups and links. That way people can gain strength from knowing how many people really support us.

2. AARP is the leading voice on this
They are acting as a union and will raise close to $30 million to air ads to fight SSI Destruction.

The whole privitization meme is bad for the the Rethugs so they have abandoned it. Now they are going for private accounts and trying to tie the federal 401(k) programs into SSI Destruction programs. (If the federal employees can have 401(k) plans, why can't you. It's another misdirection gambit because SSI is not an investment program and was never intended as one. Lying is what Rethugs do extremely well. Sigh!)

There are a great number of groups gearing up for the SSI battle. This does not look like a winner for the Rethugs. A lot of Congressmen are running scared with this one for 2006. There are a fair number of voices on the Dem side who want to see the Rethugs take a pounding on this without stepping in to save them. They brought it up, let them run away from it.
