that Kerry is someone, who has fought the good fight for years at personal expense, gets no appreciation from "progressives" when he has their backs for decades. He stood against Nixon and Iran Contras (with no backing from the Dem leadership)-- earning him the undying hatred of the right. He has the strongest Congressional record on the environment (decades long), he has always supported women rights, gay rights, helped minorities, children (more than just his kids) and expanding healthcare. Instead of any appreciation for the progessive left, he gets trashed because he is not telegenic or doesn't speak with bravado. Meanwhile I supposed to swoon who has good rhetoric instead of good deeds. Well I judge a man by his acts not his empty rheotric.

1. The thing is
My 19 year old daughter, at the time, said he was "hot, for an old guy". A lot of the "good rhetoric" some use today comes directly from him. Finally, I think all our candidates have a slate of "good deeds" to back them up, though the good Senator is heads and shoulders above them all, pun intended. I just find it funny that so many people use the charicatures when defending him, then wonder why people keep using those smears.

3. I think the poster is
on our side. I just think it goes to show how insidious stereotypes can be. Know what I mean? (yeh, I think you do. lol)

4. Oh, yes that poster is definitely on our side
Should have clarified that more and said that people who call themselves progressives and say they support progressive candidates continue to tear down, bash, and smear one of the few like Kerry that is on our side.

Yes, I do know what you mean too. :hi:
