Politics and Technology has noticed JK's "Innovative list-building Flash BlogAd"
Innovative list-building Flash BlogAd from John Kerry

He may not be running for President, but John Kerry is staying in the game. This week, his was the first organization to debut a Flash ad with BlogAds. And not just any Flash ad -- but a well-designed little sign-up form, inviting progressive activists to join his campaign to set a deadline to end the Iraq War.

It's a bold innovation - and we're bound to see more like it. Just another way to shorten the distance between where the audience is hanging out, and the list you want 'em on.

Check it out: (here they inserted JK's ad)

They also have noticed that JK is hiring:

John Kerry now hiring EIGHT new media staffers

We're not quite sure what he's up to, but Senator John Kerry's campaign team is hiring to fill eight positions in his Netroots Team

10. I liked the - we don't know what he's up to comment
Interesting as they are implying he is not predictable (in a good way) even as he is doing EXACTLY what he said he was going to do.

4. I'm in complete agreement there.
I've only truly believed in two presidential candidates in my lifetime and both lost to an incumbent President in a time of war. Both also continued on in the Senate afterward.

Guess who the first was?

5. McGovern
I think we're twins! (except I got cheated out of the red hair)
Although much as I like McGovern, it wasn't like Kerry. (Also, there really seemed no chance in fall 1972 - while it looked good on election day 2004. I went to the "victory" celbration party for McGovern - and remember someone playing "Not a second time" at least 4 or 5 times.)

6. All you missed was the carrot top baiting.
:)

Actually, I mixed up elections. Nixon wasn't an encumbent when he ran against my guy, Hubert Humphrey. Humphrey was a senator before he was VP and later he became a senator again. He was my first political hero. McGovern was awesome too, but by that time, politics had taken a back seat to boys. :D

7. pic of young John with VP Humphrey

JK was giving Humphrey a petition to protest the involvement in Vietnam. interesting is that this was before he joined the military and volunteered for Vietnam.

9. That's a great photo.
I've always had this theory that Kerry wanted to go to Vietnam to find out for himself if the war was necessary. That's a tough way to learn, but that's how I see JK. He doesn't just sit on the sidelines making calls. He gets in there and learns. That's why, when he speaks, he speaks with the authority of someone who has been there and done that.
