How about a big dose of truth for a Saturday morning?
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 10:34 AM by blm
I posted this in a thread - it really opened my eyes even wider whenI clicked a link to an article in one of madfloridian's threads.

I wish I had seen this at the time - William Greider in early 2003:

>>>
A darker scenario was suggested by a Democratic lobbyist who described "Team Clinton" scurrying around Washington, setting up independent money pots and "issue" fronts to pre-empt other voices and to define the broad agenda for 2004 in Clinton's New Democrat terms. The ultimate objective, in this scenario, is to prepare the ground for Senator Hillary Clinton's eventual run for the presidency (when Mr. Bill might return to the White House as First Spouse). This insider chatter sounds melodramatic and way ahead of the story, but it's not exactly paranoid fantasy. The Clinton circle is busy building things.
>>>

Gee - is this why McAuliffe never countered RNC tactics to suppress votes and didn't secure election process?

Is this why Carville and Grunwald stayed silent about WH outing Plame?

Is this why Carville tipped off Matalin that Kerry would be contesting provisional ballots in Ohio, and shortly after the number of provisional ballots dropped by 100,000?

You and your side may end up winning in 2008, but it will be an UGLY and UNCONSTITUTIONAL form of victory for the Coverup Wing of the Democratic Party that would be based on sabotage and betrayal.

1. THanks. I know a lot of us had a gut feeling
that this was how it was going. Do you have a link to Greiders peice? It's more evidence that we are the democratic wing of the democratic party

3. Thanks for this
I saw Madfloridian's post and she really gets it too.

This is making me sick, and I will do all I can to keep this corrupt part of the party out of the WH.

4. Nice to have some truth to back up what many of us thought was going on for some time.
Damn the Clinton's and the pull they have over our party. Not that it matters much to them, I am small potatoes, but I an not giving anything to the Democrats in the way of donations until the Clinton's are gone. I give individually -to JK and that is it. Maybe to whomever I decide to support- if anyone in the primaries-but the rest of the party can go begging elsewhere.

6. another thing I've wondered about 2004
Bill had that heart by-pass operation. Sure, he needed it, but could it have been scheduled to give him a great excuse not to hit the trail for Kerry? I know it's tinfoil hat stuff, :tinfoilhat:, but it did give him an excuse. Could it have been deferred until later? As far as Hillary, I don't remember her campaigning for Kerry, besides speaking at the convention--did she?

8. Hillary campaigned, a little...
Wish we could get more proof about we suspect. More of it. I also don't like Bill3's hold, regardless of my Kerry copncerns.

10. No, open heart surgury is not optional surgury
and from all accounts, his condition in terms of blocked arteries was far worse than expected.

What was unnecessary was the Clinton biography coming out in July 2004, when Kerry and Edwards should have been the story. That coupled with Clinton nearly writing Kerry out of the 90s in it when he knew well before it went to press that Kerry was the nominee were pretty selfish. (I mean how do you write pages about re-establishingrelations with Vietnam - giving McCain some credit, but only listing Kerry in a list of Senate veterans who gave him cover.

9. I have suspected this all along.
Hillary has been running for president since she declared her candidacy for the Senate near the end of WJC's term. She didn't want to wait until 2012 to run, so she and her operatives undermined the Dem's chances to win the WH in 2004. This is probably the main reason I despise the woman. :grr:

11. 2012 would have been to late to run in the DLC play book. She would
have been a senator for twelve years- way to long and by them she would of had to have a real position or two on some issues.

12. I don't think she ever really wanted to be a senator
She just used it as a platform to launch her WH bid. She had to get some "legitimate" political experience to be a credible presidential candidate.
