Though it came out a week after Kerry announced he wasn't running, it's good that they thought of him as heavyweight, though I disagree that Biden is a heavyweight, unless they meant heavyweights as far as foreign policy goes.
His possible candidacy has launched a media frenzy. At a hearing of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on which Obama sits, nearly a dozen photographers remained focused on the Harvard Law School graduate's every move, virtually ignoring political heavyweights like Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) and Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE), both of whom are also on the committee and have presidential aspirations.
What others are saying about 08:
Obama's candidacy would make for "one of the most exciting Democratic primary elections in my lifetime."--Congreswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA)
Obama "joins a list of well-qualified, committed Democratic candidates who will serve America with their leadership and vision. The American people will certainly have a stellar group of public servants from whom to choose."--Congressional Black Caucus Chair Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-MI)
The positive praise is nice, but did anyone pay attention to 2004? It looks like it's going to be a long 1 1/2 years.
