How would you answer Leo's question?
From the JK blog today:

"JK was asked to contribute to a discussion started by Leonardo DiCaprio on Yahoo! on global warming."

Read JK's statement, and weigh in with your own suggestions:

I want to second the suggestion to replace your light bulbs with flourescent. Right after I saw an Inconvienent Truth, I went out to do that, and this month, which is when they adjust my electric bill - I am on a plan that averages it out so I have the same bill every month, my bill is going down by about $20 a month, plus I didn't have to pay my electric bill of about $75 this month.

So it's good for saving expenses in addition to global warming.

3. Meg, you are so right!
It saves a lot of money, that's what people have to understand. Everybody should be interested in saving money. We here in Europe have the energy efficient light bulbs since about 20 years and they are not only energy saving but they live much longer than normal light bulbs.

4. I posted
I posted at the blog. The one unfortunate thing is I used to have my outside lights on timers - but the timers I bought for flourescent bulbs interfered with my DSL connection, so now I have to remember to turn them off before I go to bed - and I don't always remember. I'm still saving money, but not as much as I might.

I don't know if anyone has found a good screw in timer for a compact flourescent outside bulb that does not interfere with a DSL modem.

I also had a security system/x10 console that turned off my lights - and dimmed them, etc at a time I could program in my computer, through the power lines, but unfortunately that does not work with the florescent.
