It says something about 2008....but I don't really understand exactly what is going on yet. Take from it what you want.

3. I was wondering that too.
I think it probably was.

Anyway, that poster was kind of a downer. I can't wait to hear what whometense says.

5. That's okay
This poster mentioned the same sadness Whome felt. Everybody processes events in different ways. This one is simply the other point of view. Besides, us Massholes have a reputation for blase attitudes towards our pols. But we are really marshmellows inside. So we put up the snarky front. Keeps the tourists happy. (I mean really, the whole Red Sox aftermath gave the lie to tough NE-ers. we all balled like babies. Not tough at all.)

4. Weird post
He says he wanted to scream "you caved" then turns around and tells the man "you're my president"????

Can't wait for whometense's report. Maybe it'll be a little more objective.

8. Loving Kerry is not necessarily exclusive of being disappointed that he
conceded so fast. I think he should have held on a bit longer as well, but it was his decision to make. And I feel he is my President too. Maybe the poster also meant he should have hung in because he IS president?

9. Didn't Whomtense also say something about Teddy announcing the 2008 run?
Yet this guy says nothing was said about 2008. Did I get it wrong? I think Whomtense has a better take.

10. Thanks!
:-) Teddy absolutely did say something about 2008. It may have been a half-joke. It certainly wasn't official or anything, but here's my proof:

Kerry, striving to be upbeat as he addressed staffers and campaign volunteers from his failed White House run, was propped up by his Bay State colleague, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy .

``This is the first meeting of the Kerry for President Committee 2008,'' Kennedy declared as Kerry and his wife, Teresa, looked on.

In a meeting earlier in the day with Herald editors and reporters, Kennedy predicted Kerry would be an even more formidable candidate if he runs again in four years.

``He's got to make his own judgment,'' Kennedy said. ``He'd be a stronger candidate the next time."

11. I agree with that
He would be the known quantity and someone like Frist would be the challenger. (It becomes more interesting with Guiliani or McCain, but I don't think the RWers would support them.)

15. Typical Masshole
Only happy when miserable. Sen. Kerry did not do absolutely everything that a perfect candidate would do. (The fact that perfect candidates are only found at the contemplative bottom of a really large beer stein is irrelevent, of course.) Pats win the Super Bowl last year. Boston hosts the DNC and people actually compliment the city. The Red Sox win the World Serious for the first time in 86 years. Sen Kerry, a hometown guy, nearly wins it all to an incumbent Pres in a time of war, despite carrying the burden of being a 'Massachusetts liberal, and we are grumpy. Sigh! Masshole disease.

17. Indeed
If people were satisfied, we wouldn't need elections. We would all just be such happy, shiny people. Not likely anytime soon.

How are things, btw, in CA?
