5. Thanks, guys! I'm surprised, but it has now hit the Rec List
And SusanG rec'd it, which I took as a nice compliment. Senator Kerry is really something -- 5 sentences from him led me down this journey all the way back to WWI in Germany. That guy's intellect and historical knowledge is a true powerhouse.

9. Everyone's a critic.
You should apologize to that guy for your two letter error.
Who ignores an entire diary because of a typo?

10. I don't mind being corrected; in fact, I appreciate it, but God
that guy was rude about it.

12. Excellent work
I don't think we're going to be able to get foreign policy right until we make it clear why it's so often gone wrong. That goes with domestic economic policy too. A big part of it is the right and we've got to start saying so. You don't have to play the partisan scorched earth games, but you do have to articulate their failings.

14. Oh, I LOVE this comment -- it went on some time in the middle
of the night, but it says something that I don't often hear:

Wonder if Kerry read my response (1+ / 0-)

To Michael Moore's rant the other day on alternet. My comment, entitled "McCain is not bonkers" pointed out exactly the point Kerry made. Have made the same comment here numerous times. Lived through the whole who lost China, North Korea, Vietnam bs and saw McCain coming from a mile off. A little more history you may be interested in. Us "bums" with our protests were making headway in swaying public opinion against the war, but it was slow - until we were joined by Vietnam Veterens against the war - and John Kerry's electrifying testimony before congress. I don't believe any single individual was more responsible for turning the tide of public opinion against the war. That's one reason he is still so fervently hated by the wingnuts.

17. Oh, I figured MSM types read the dailykos. At least that's what
they've said. Since Sully put the Kerry quote up, I'm waiting a little before I send him more stuff. Spacing it out, if you will.

18. And stab in the back continues . .
I just put C-SPAN on, and this Heritage guy just said the only reason the south Vietnamese lost in 1975 was because Congress cut off funding which was supplying their army. What a bunch of horseshit!!!! Perhaps it was because there was very little for the south Vietnamese to fight FOR (as in, their corrupt government) that they folded so quickly . . .

19. The Heritage Foundation needs to be called out for what it is a biased
crazy to far to the right leaning Republican mouthpiece.
The Republicans do it all the time to organizations that may support Democratic ideals, but are not closely associated with us. The ACLU comes to mind.
Every time someone mentions or quotes the HF, we need to call them out as biased and therefore irrelevant.

20. My God, that diary is a thing of beauty :)
I'm sorry I was out of town during the period when I could have hit recommend. I will definitely pass it on to other people, though, because I learned a lot from it; the research you did is amazing.
