I miss the Senate again.
This is terrible. Every time I said that in the 109th Congress, the Rethugs came in and gutted something precious to the American people, or their law or Constitution.

But, ahm, I kind of miss the Senate. They come back, possibly for only one week, on Tuesday and have a nifty hearing on a new SecDef set for that day.

Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006

Armed Services
To hold hearings to examine the nomination of
Robert M. Gates, to be Secretary of Defense;
there is a possibility of a closed session in
S-407 following the open session.
SH-216

So, should I be afraid for The Republic because they 109th is slithering onto the stage to breathe their last poisonous vapors out onto the land or filled with hope that this is the last chance this Weasel Congress can ever trouble us again?

4. That's just
sad. :D

Just kidding. But I've been feeling more the second way - that much less chance to do any more damage before they lose control of the Senate. (yee-ha!)

I'm frankly not feeling all that warmly about the dems lately, either, so I've been sort of happy not to have to see them in action. But I'm looking forward to the Kerry-chaired hearings in January.
