in the middle of the media thrashing of Kerry

Hillary Clinton 31         27

Barack Obama  19         21

Al Gore        10         9

John Kerry      10         8

John Edwards    6         7

Joseph Biden     2         2

Bill Richardson   2         2

Evan Bayh       1         1

Russ Feingold    1         1

Christopher Dodd -         -

Tom Vilsack    -         -

Unsure 18 24

Kerry is still at the same place he was last week, which means that this had absolutely no influence on him. People who trusted him still trust him. His base is a lot more solid than the Hillary or Obama's base, who are just pushed by the media.

1. Also, since the 08 campaign

is underway, expect it here (not in this group) but in GD/GDP. They are going to use media polls and other Anti-Kerry garbage to promote their candidates. (facts will come in very handy :))

It's also the flavor of the month, week, day, even year factor. :eyes:

2. Wow, that was taken on election day
so it was BEFORE people knew that the joke had no negative impact. That is good.

4. I have no idea why, but I have an urge to post pics
that, of course, have nothing to do with today.

6. There is good news aboute these polls.
I think everyone knows Gore is not running.
I personally do not beleive Obama is running.
That puts him right behind Hellary.

7. To be honest, I discovered another Rassmussen poll that is not so good for him
but was taken before (right in the middle of the media hysteria). So, I would wait and see how it evolves, as it is really too early anyway.

Anyway, we all know how little the polls mean, so early in the election season.

8. i saw that one
but i think most important will be on the ground campaigning in the early primary states.

the poll you mention would be more to worry about if it had happened one year from now rather than now.

but even in late 2003 and maybe early 2004 there were some national polls which showed Kerry support below that of Al Sharpton. Kerry was like 3 or 4 percent.

this does help me in not being so bothered by them as i was during that time.

9. Also a lot depends on how questions are phrased
The good news on the other poll is that the damage doesn't look bad in terms of supporters. That would be the least affected - he hasn't been pushed by the media - so those people are like us. We know who he is.

What is more a problem will be high negatives. (ie - for a general election) I assume he will do something to deal with this. I also think at some point, he will get credit for the even tempered way he has persisted through at least 2 years of near continuous smears.

10. I look at these numbers, and laugh. Look at the numer of posts to JK's site here...compared to
all the other alleged Dem "preferred" candidates.

Horses just aren't out of the gate yet. Wait and be patient...for that one "strong Closer."
