Audio Interview with Sen. Kerry on BlueMassGroup website
Edited on Tue Oct-24-06 02:36 PM by TayTay

I am just now downloading this. Apparently, it was recorded today at a campaign appearance with Deval Patrick.

Thank you Senator. Believe it or not, a lot of the nasty and untrue snark that comes out about Kerry comes from MAssholes with a grudge and chip on their shoulder. I am glad that Kerry is directly addressing the alleged fundraising thing again. (Though sorry he has to. It's true, a lie can get half way across the glove before the truth can get it's shoes on, sigh!)

1. Listening - He is doing great.
A comment of the woman asking why he wanted to hear from them tells us a lot about the relationship between media and blogs.

4. Thanks, Tay.
What an absolutely great interview. Totally natural, totally in character.

I love that he has the courage to face the people, and answer questions honestly. These two are not known to be Kerry partisans, in any way.

7. They weren't Kerry partisans?
Listening to it I thought they were. I loved the tone of voice and openness.I wish I would have listened to this before posting. He has everything to be proud of in what he has done.

However, he is a US Senator and a very good one and people like that don't just fall out of trees ya know. Sigh! We are a snarky and occasionally nasty bunch of friggin bastids up here, but, dammit, that is a powerful Senator who has bested all comers who have run against him locally. He is, as we say, not nothing, so you treat him accordingly. Sigh!

BTW, I'm sorry I couldn't post this in GD. I hurriedly posted it here and then left work to go home. No time.

EDIt: Oh Gawd, definite Massholes did this interview. Only Massholes, with their propensity for drop-dead honesty, would give the answer they did when Sen Kerry asked them what they thought their influence is on politics. Only Massholes would answer with the navel-gazing, "We don't know, we are in awe of it and we can't explain it. It's new to us too." Sigh. Some people would use a somewhat flattering question like that to court power. Your garden variety Masshole uses it as an opportunity to question the greater order of the universe and our place in it. Sigh!

9. I read the blog every day,
and more often than not they are bashing him for one reason or another. Which made it extra sweet to hear the respect in their voices. Very smart of him to show a willingness to talk with them.

11. Wonderful little interview
JK sounds relaxed and casual, very unlike the 'aloof' image the MSM pinned him with in 2004.

12. Anybody hear them call him John at the end?
Call me old fashioned, but really, shouldn't he be Senator?

Okay, awesome interview, and a perfect rebuttal to the hoopla on dKos. People have GOT to hear this guy.

And he said he and Teresa are putting their own personal money in. That's excellent to know when the next whining starts.

So who has a transcription? This needs to be diaried on dailykos. 'Cause you know Markos THINKS he runs the place, but he doesn't. The one thing I will not knock him on is the site itself and its completely democratic rules, where people vote or troll rate at their own discretion. With the tag search, an excellent diary about Kerry, even if it doesn't make the Rec List, is worth it, because Kerry supporters do searches to see what's up with the Senator.

I'll await transcription, and then a diary is in order.

13. Yes, but that is not that unusual
There is a line somewhere between being too formal and too informal. Sometimes it's not clear where that line is. Sigh! I ran into that in NH, when I did call THK 'Teresa' then had a fit of guilt that I was not formal enough. (The Lady in question didn't bat an eyelash. The concern was all mine.)

Ahm, if I had to say how it goes usually, it would be an introduction as Senator, then somewhere along the line, as the interview got more relaxed, then it might be on a first name basis. However, I would never do that. (I think it's a bad habit to get into, but I am a bit stuffy anyway.)
