Thank you Taylor Marsh! Post today is not to be missed.
Edited on Mon Oct-09-06 09:08 AM by TayTay
Taylor writes an awesome blog post that notes, in sadness, just how right John Kerry was in 2004 and is right now. (There is also a YouTube link for the HBO appearance last Friday.)

Thanks Taylor. If only......

6. Unbelievable!
Matalin went to report to Cheney.

What? the vice president asked. ...

"You'd better tell the president," Cheney told her. ...

"They're going to contest it," Matalin said.

"What does that mean?" the president asked. He had his note cards with talking points in hand, ready to go over to the Reagan Building to declare victory.

Matalin said somebody in authority needed to get in touch with J. Kenneth Blackwell, the Republican secretary of state in Ohio, who would be in charge of any challenge to the provisional votes.

That last sentence says it all!

7. IN GD - a former skeptic we locked horns with now thinks it DID happen.
It all comes down to the details in the book. In law it would be called the preponderance of the evidence. No smoking gun yet, but a building civil case.

8. The same skeptic is back attacking Kerry supporters in another thread
He is part of those who are magnanimous as long as we are not talking about Kerry running, and then are back to the attack as soon as it is about Kerry running.

14. I saw that - I would have commented commending the
fact she looked into it, but she has me on "ignore". I don't think we're anywhere near a smoking gun or preponderance of evidence. It was Kerry's people each time who gave him the number of ballots - I would assume Kerry (or more likely a lawyer/strategist asked why the number changed. You need another shoe to drop ... but they've been dropping quickly.

I see the Carville and McCurray stories as more damning in showing lack of loyalty. Couple the fact that from January 2004 to Nov 2, 2004, I would bet that if we took all tapes of Carville, he said more negative than positive things about Kerry. This is damning when he is looked at as a Democratic partisan.

McCurray is a suprise as he struck me in 2004 as doing a good job. Lockhart was a huge fiasco. In net the Clinton people were likely a minus - and likely thoe speaking to the media anonymously after the election.

I Love James Carville (0 / 0)
Aftering working for the man, and seeing him every day, I can tell you that there is nobody who actually cares more about getting the Democrats back in power.

Also, I'll let you know that he reads DailyKos. He even called Bonddad because he believes his posts on economics are fucking genius.

I don't know if this is true or not. But, it doesn't matter to me either way, because Kerry lost Ohio, and he wasn't close in the popular vote. The Republicans didn't "steal" Ohio.

And also, to all those people who are attacking Mr. Carville's marriage I say, go fuck yourself.

11. His blog is a good indication of what he is. A fan of Carville and
the 92 Clinton team.

In one of his posts, he accuses Gore not to have the moral character to run as president because he did not support Lieberman in the primary.

In the next one, he attacks Bowers as "anti-Clintonian" because he does not agree 100 % with Carville's memo about having a plan. The main problem is that Carville is the one who is wrong: Democrats have a plan.

So, I imagine from his blog and his kos post that this person is nothing more than an inconditionnal of Carville who is not even ready to question his actions. We have seen many like that (those who claim Carville is a genius without considering that he only got Clinton higher than 42-43 % and that he has never done anything else in this country since (probably one of the reason he is bashing Gore and Kerry).

12. Do the Carville's have any children? This is an overly fawning
post whose talking points could be taken from Carville himself or a freeper. This has all the makings of a Kerry attack post. Kerry really lost, Kerry wasn't popular and Kerry didn't have enough votes, therefore the Repubs didn't steel the election.

Oh, please allow me a Little wise crack here, "nobody cares more about getting the Democrats back in power", sure he does, now that the Clinton's are going to take another shot at it.

but I hate to see parents parading their children around in public like that. Smacks of the worst kind of exploitation. What are they doing on "Meet the Press"?????

I bet you wouldn't do that to your girls. ;-)

20. Absolutely not.
When I see parents use their children as props to try and present a certain image of themselves, I go crazy. It reminds me of "Mommy Dearest".

16. Thankyou!
Good post, but also the HBO link--I had not seen it yet. JK was wonderful, and Bill Maher isn't the most sympathetic interviewer. He's said plenty about JK that's made me really mad in the past--painting him as unable to get a message out, etc.

There is a way to send the YouTube video to someone else. I sent it to myself, one reason being that it might raise the popularity rating of the video.
