Help!! Does anyone have any quotes of Allen insulting Kerry?

I'm putting together a diary on RK (maybe dKos, too) about Kerry saying Allen fumbling through campaign by "being himself", and I just wanted to give examples of Allen's nasty behavior both on the Senate floor or in the SFRC, particularly toward Kerry. It would be really fun to show his bullying ways, and that Kerry is yet another character witness of the dirtbag Allen is. It's all in the public record, so it's nothing new, but I'm sure many people wouldn't know this stuff.

I can't figure out how to get that info on Thomas, and am hoping you guys can help me out. Thanks!

P.S. -- actually, tell me how to research it on Thomas, so I can research, too.

I chose George Allen as the senator to search, and then entered "John Kerry" in the Enter Search box, and chose exact match only.

Brings up a lot of instances in which George Allen mentioned Kerry on the senate floor. Happy hunting!

I'm not as sure of Foreign Relations committee transcripts. Maybe Tay can help with that.

It doesn't work for me -- I even just put George Allen up with nothing in the Search field, and it shows me everything from OTHER senators. I don't get it.

Oh well -- if somebody has something easily obtainable, that's great. But I just can't find anything.

5. Thomas is a maddening search engine.

You have to have a rough estimate in your head of when things happened that would have caused Barfie to make comments about Kerry.

I would also use the date field at the bottom and then think about what, roughly, the dates might have been when things got heated.

Try selecting Jan 25 - Jan 31st of this year. That was the Alito filibuster.
Then enter Allen (ick) as the Senator and put in Kerry as a single search term.
Look at the results and see if you can bring something up and then do a text search for 'Kerry.'

Research is a long and tedious business and it moves in inches. You have to have a timeline imprinted on your head before hand and then remember to look around that.

Alito: late Jan 2006
Condiliar Rice confirmation: mid Jan 2005
Bankruptcy: late Feb to early March 2005
Iraq (2005) Look from Oct 27th to Nov 19th, 2005
Iraq (2006) The deepest and baddest shit was June 13th - June 20th

And so forth.
