3. In Michigan, there are 3 ways that most deer die:
Hunters, motor vehicles, and starvation. The order can change any given year.
The state has never managed the herd as well as they could have. Just recently, they started releasing more doe permits which goes a long way to help control the total deer population. It just took the state too long to figure out that there was a problem, or how to solve it.
