Survivor South Pacific casting rumours
it's pretty well confirmed that the two returning players will be Coach and Ozzy. Because we need two jerks to make the season awesome.

Oh, and let's have a third: Supposedly, Russhole's nephew will be on this season.

1. It's really beginning to look like Survivor has met the shark
And is about to jump over it.

2. Agreed
If they have to keep bringing back players... But I did like Coach. I should say, I strongly disliked Coach so much that I liked him.

3. I might just avoid Survivor this time around.

All it will take is one of Coach's bullshit "warrior" homilies.

11. He coached at a university
in the local conference. I've heard more than a few stories about him-and none were good.

Maybe that's why I tend to root for the lying idiot.

4. I've only watched the last 4 or 5 series of Survivor
Coach sucks, he is only so so at challenges, though all they count for really is to get a clue to an immunity idol and is at best a tool for others that play better to use. I'm not sure who Ozzy is, so no comment there.

The whole idea of bringing back old people is tired already, as long as they are around the show focuses on them way too much. Last season, all my friends up in the Boston area were rooting for Rob and I kept hoping that his team would get the stones to vote him off. I think he would have been much more interesting in redemption.

I hope they have some interesting people... I keep applying but they never pick me :( Anyone know when this starts?

8. I've seen every episode 2 or 3 times at least
I love this show beyond reason, but they're testing me.

As for getting on the show, it appears to help if you know the right people. Also, have a hook. They fill slots (young cute blonde, older cannon fodder, buff man crush for Probst, token black, token gay), so make yourself fit one.

The show starts in late September, I can't remember the date, but sometime in the 20's.

The reason they bring back older players is because the mass of Survivor fans out there aren't that into the strategy of the game. Remember, the mass of fans are the ones who gave Rupert and Russhole multiple Fan Favourite awards. Two of the worst players in the history of the game. Oh, and Jane, who was horrid.

I think you'll see Coach voted off fairly early, as he brings nothing but bullshit to the table. Ozzy was a challenge machine his first time on the show, but that involved a lot of swimming in the ocean, which they don't do in Samoa (where this season is filmed), and he wasn't quite as dominant the second time around. He also wasn't much on the strategic/social side, so he won't have built the dominant alliance that Rob built by the time the merge comes around.

You really should watch Cook Islands. It was controversial, as it started with 4 tribes of five, split by race (one each black, white, hispanic, asian). I won't give away anything, but it's one of my favourite seasons ever.

Then again, I love Thailand (season 5), which is universally considered one of the bottom three seasons of all time. :D

12. Thailand was only awesome
in the sense that our lord and savior Brian had everyone wrapped around his finger, was smart enough to take the biggest racist as his goat, and knew how to spin everything.

His used car sales/soft core porn skills came in handy. Loved him on the show, hated him and his puppy killing IRL.

14. agreed
I think he's the second best player ever, behind Sandra (only because she did it twice), but he's a bit of a creep IRL.

Then again, most of the players I like aren't all sweetness and light IRL. The truly nice ones rarely win. JT and Yul are the first that come to mind.

15. Yul seemed nice
but I always thought that Becky was in love with him-and he knew it.

Sandra is awesome. She knows how to play as a swing yet not be quite so wishy-washy. They should have seen her as a threat in her second season but no one really did. She's a fantastic player and made to play that game. The only ones who don't realize how great she is tend to be Russell fans.

5. I had to google Ozzy.
Now I remember. I don't recall him being that much of a jerk.

Coach? Now there is a jerk.

7. In Cook Islands
he was next to go from Aitu before the Mutiny. He was only kept because they desperately needed his challenge prowess.

He turned out to be a much bigger jerk in Micronesia (Fans vs Favourites), where he was a bit of an entitled brat.

9. I loved Ozzy the first go-round
Maybe this time he'll be a little more humble. He was really fun to watch in the challenges. Coach however is another story....he is the second most obnoxious person ever on the show, Russell being a no contest first imo.

I'm with you Lazarus, pathetically I'm already looking forward to the show coming on again. And this is coming from someone who for the first several seasons never watched the show and ragged on people who did. I had been a huge fan of Burnett's original Eco-challenge show where teams competed with bikes, hiking and I can't recall what else, in places like Borneo, and New Zealand. It was shown on cable for 3 days running. It really was survival. I heard he may be reviving something like that, and I hope it's true.

13. Russell is the most obnoxious
but I wouldn't call Coach the second. We could make a list of who was worse.

Coach was just an annoying gnat.

6. Don't understand
I don't understand why they have to keep bringing old people back. It's not like they don't have a multitude of new assholes applying to be on the show every season. :P

10. NOOOOO!!!!
Say it ain't so Laz, say it ain't so!

I am without question a "SUPER-fan" of the show. I think they are pushing me to my limit. I did not like last season at all. I enjoyed watching the Boston Rob show even less than I liked the Russell show before that. I want a show about new people and watching how they respond to each other. Once someone there is already a known factor, it kills a big part of the show.

I wish they would just have 16-20 new and interesting people. Sure I know its about ratings and demographics, so throw in the right mix of age/race/sex; make sure you have the necessary a bikini babe and hunk guy for the commercials, and find the token old guy for the sound bytes, but above all make sure all the people are interesting and unknown.

I was never a big fan of Coach. Sure he is fun to watch, but that was the first season when it was new. Now, I don't want to see it again. Ozzy?!?!? Really? did we not learn how dull he was the first and second time around. I mean hands down, he is simply the best pure athlete they have ever had on the show. He is a fish in the water. But man he is dull. I don't want to see him again.

though I say this now, I will be here every week posting about the show. I'm a sucker for it.
