AND THE WINNER OF SURVIVOR GABON IS ...
BOB!!!

I have never been this pleased with the winner of Survivor. Just four weeks ago I started to really like bob and hope he would win, but it seemed like there would be no chance for such an outcome. Even last night, when Sugar was talking about forcing a tie, I thought she would stop in the end. True she had no chance against Bob, but I thought she had a better chance against Matty than Bob, so that would decide it for her. Oh well, goes to show that people really do act on whats in their heart.

It was a good last episode. I loved the warrior paint. I also loved seeign Sugar play Kenny. Kenny got what was coming to him. He was right, never get too cocky. Oh yeah, that build the Gabon hut challange was INSANE. The challanges this season were among the best ever. I tip my hat the the challange people at Survivor, they did a great job. Bob once again proved that he was the best player in this game, winnign yet another wearign of the necklace.

The final four was good, though I felt Susie sort of gave away her chances of winnign by admitting in tribal that she rides coattails. She amlost won anyway. The build a tower challenge looked good. I thought Sugar was goign to pull it off, but she kept making a mistake, not looking at the base. Oh well. She still got what she wanted and I give Susie credit. I think that earned her a vote or two. Oh yeah, fire making again proves difficult, and Bob wins.

The walk through the torches was corny but corny in a good way, as usual. I like that part. The last tribal went as expected. Though if I was sugar I would have said the hell with the money and walked over and hit Corinne for that Dad comment. Randy is a sad man, I feel badly for him. Susie surprised me with three votes, btu I guess Sugar really did piss more people off than I thought. Bob, congrats, you were the most deserving winner in recent memory.

1. Did anyone notice what I noticed?

Immediately after Bob was announced the winner and just before he embraced his family I distinctly heard a male voice say "kiss my ass" and then there was a second or two of silence like CBS might have hit the "kill audio" button. I suspect it might have been Randy but have no real idea.

Congrats to Bob but I would have preferred that the $100K had gone to Sugar.

2. I agree with the $100K
I was really disappointed that a winner also won the $100K. I am glad Bob won but I felt really sad about the whole finale as I thought Sugar deserved the votes over Susie. I really went back and forth over who I thought should win, Bob or Sugar.

Maybe I'll have more to say later. I can only say now that this is the first time where I've been happy with the winner but so disappointed overall with how the votes and finale went that it ruined Bob's win for me.

7. I'm shocked, but not that upset
Sugar was annoying, so I can understand why people did not vote for her. True I would not have voted for Susie, but I would have instead voted for bob.

4. I heard that bleeped remark, too. I wonder if it was Randy or Kenny.
That was a great ending. Sugar really won me over at the end, but I'm glad Bob won. I bet he helps Sugar get her life back on track. Corinne turned out to be the bitch from hell. What a nasty human being!

6. I missed that
but we had the volume low because my infant son was sleeping in the living room with us. I hope someone catches it on youtube. I'm sure they fixed it for the CA feed later that night.

10. Here is a link
I don;t know how long it will last, but here it is on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEHf5JU35KE

Its rights after Bob jumps down to him family after he wins. The survivors are greeting each other on the stage and "you can kiss my ass" is said, then its dead audio for a few seconds. I think its Randy saying it to Probst when he says hello to him on the stage, but maybe I'm wrong.

3. Local paper: Maine man takes top prize on 'Survivor'
If you can survive in Maine, you can probably survive anywhere.

That's the message Bob Crowley – a physics teacher, tree pruner and lobsterman from South Portland – delivered to a national TV audience Sunday night by winning $1 million on the CBS reality show "Survivor."

With his patience, stamina and cleverness, the bowtie-wearing 57-year-old teacher beat out 17 other folks from around the country.

He proved he could survive in the wilds of Africa, foraging for food, and that he could play the head games so crucial to "Survivor." Contestants vote each other off each week, so making friends and influencing people is key.

Crowley survived on Sunday's show long enough to be among the final three contestants, mainly by winning physical and mental challenges. Crowley, along with teacher Susie Smith and model Sugar Kiper, then had to put their fate in the hands of a jury of seven of their former "Survivor" competitors. The jury had to pick the person they thought was most deserving of the title "sole survivor" and the million dollars.

I had to change the channel for the build-a-fire face-off. I couldn't watch it. Too nervous.

Corinne is still a witch. And I do like Sugar.

Congratulations, Bob!

9. I liked Bob, but what's missing is everybody's recognition that it was Sugar who made it possible
for him to even be there. Even HE was resigned to going home after Susie won the challenge, when Sugar came up with the idea to create the tie. After that, I marveled at her strategy—thinking, wow, this way she can reason that she couldn't bring herself to make a choice, and the the only way out was to leave it up to fate, or however they decided how to break the tie, and she wouldn't earn either of their enmity. It was plausible, esp. after she said Matty was like her brother and Bob was like her dad. I wonder why she didn't do that. Her strategy was so great up till then. Even Randy admired it.

I know she was a little snotty on occasion, but c'mon. Randy was a creep, Corinne was a creep, and they were always up in everybody's face with it. Who could be blamed for reacting against that? Plus, who wouldn't be a little snarky after knowing everybody dismissed you as an airhead, & sent you to Exile over and over.

I'm stunned she didn't get one vote, not even Matty's, whom she saved with the necklace. They REALLY must have edited out a lot. But if Bob doesn't give her some of that money for saving his ass in the last tribal council, then he might not be the super duper upfront swell guy he seemed to be for so long.

Randy sent chills up my spine at the last council, looking at his eyes so filled with hate. I think the reason they tried to make him out as an eccentric curmudgeon at the reunion was because they thought he was a seriously disturbed man too. I even wondered was he on meds. Corinne is a joke, thinking she's so all that, she'll get hers someday.

This season turned out to be one of the best ever. I started out thinking it was a group of duds, but it really surprised me. But Bob had a big life preserver tossed to him by Sugar that got him the million bucks, and I hope he does the right thing.

12. It got stronger as it went on
In the beginnign I thought it was weak when one tribe started dominating, but the switch made it interesting. I love watching the peopel who think they deserve to win, lose. Corinne made this show fun. She truly thought that it was her right to win and everyone else's right to lose.

13. Congrats, Bob!
I'm really happy for Bob, even though I was pulling for both Bob and Matty at the end. Bob seems like a genuinely nice human being, and a great competitor. He knew when to strategize, he knew when to be a power player, and he knew when to sit back--he really did display all the qualities of a great survivor.

Surgar turned out to be the big power player here. I suspect she was a bigger broker than Kenny even, but we didn't see it because of the edit. I was still surprised that she didn't get a single vote at the final tribal council.

Randy and Corinne are just sad excuses for human beings. I feel very sorry for both of them.

All in all, one of the better Survivor outings, IMO. I'm kind of sorry it's over.

14. 'Survivor' winner wishes he'd kept shirt on
GORHAM — Bob Crowley stood in front of students and co-workers at Gorham High School on Wednesday – his first appearance since winning $1.1 million on "Survivor" Sunday night – and told them that despite his stunning victory, he wishes he had done at least one thing differently.

"Would I have changed anything I did on the show? I would have left my shirt on," said Crowley, 57, who was often seen bare-chested on the CBS reality program. (At one point, he was even covered mostly in body paint.)

The physics teacher also substantiated what his students have been saying about him: He's funnier in person than on TV. He joked that because of federal and state taxes, he would fall short of being a millionaire.

"I figure I'll be more like a six hundred and fifty-thousandaire," Crowley said.

The school's approximately 850 students, as well as faculty and staff, gathered at an assembly Wednesday morning to welcome Crowley back after his win and a two-day stint of doing interviews and media appearances.

He's really quite the celeb around here. It's actually pretty neat! :)
