WEST WING
Okay, I missed last week's episode. I know CJ is Chief of Staff and Jimmie Smits and Alan alda's characters were introduced. Anything else I need to know about?

1. Just that CJ kicked some major ass.
She had to stand up to the DOD chair and she really kicked ass. She is such a well-written strong female character, increasingly rare on TV so I love her!

2. Jimmy Smits is a senator or congressman who is
very likable and successful, but he's not running for re-election. They're all disappointed in that because they want to keep that seat and because they like him so much. Josh went to see him to try to convince him to run for re-election and he said no, he was sick of it. He said he wanted to go home to his family.

Also, there was a strange undertone to their conversation in that Smits was trying to tell Josh that Josh would be a better politician than he is. I'm wondering if they are going to have Josh run for a seat like they did with Rob Lowe.

Also, Toby did a horrible job in his first press conference. They started interviewing for people to replace CJ and he went to CJ and said that he wants the job and he'll do better from now on. She said ok because she trusts him. So, he's going to be the old CJ for the time being.

3. No Alan Alda yet
But Jimmy Smits arrived as a TX congressman and Kristen Chenowith is the new press secretary, at least for now. CJ had a rough first day but was getting used to it at the end.

The show seems to be getting a little better. I like the idea of having CJ in charge.

4. How could a woman do that job?
Kidding. I love CJ. She is tough, but usually lets her heart prevail. One of my favorite moments was when she got th eegg to stand on its side.

I hope Josh leaves the administration and works with Jimmie Smits character full time. I heard that his conversation with Smits' character showed Josh looks up to him. Smits will obviously be the dem candidate, not the veep. Josh can be his Chief of Staff after he wins.

5. Watched last weeks episode last night - 11/17
Love the whole thing about SUVs and the Prius and alternative fuel.

And that Josh called that blogger on the phone and she immediately typed what he said to her on her blog!
