Quad World
Now on the one hand, Robert Metzger is a little bit too fond of the plot twist. "Aha! your schemes were all part of my cunning plan! But wait, no, *my* plan was manipulating your every move from the very beginning! Simpleton! All ten of your plans were orchestrated by my clever meta-scheme!"

If you've never read Quad World, I shit you not, the entire book, from about page 5, through 2 pages prior to the last page, is one long sequence of the above.

On the other hand, in spite of that, it somehow was fun. At some point you just realize that figuring it out isn't the point and go for the ride.
