Enterprise tonight, come on, give it a chance....

Tonights episode is the second in an arc of three, the last was The Forge, which I thought was very good. For those who hate the series, just remember, TNG didn't become popular to around the third season, and I still cringe at a few of the early episodes.

1. I'm looking forward to it
I've felt vaguely disapointed in the series over the last few seasons. I thought they should've done more with the challenges humans would've faced in such a turbulent galaxy, exploring deep space, with limited technology. By an large they might as well be doing new episodes of TNG. The only thing that makes it a "pre-quell" is the Star Trek "history" or lore that they are exploring in this series. And they haven't even done a good job of that...

Until now. I like the 3 episode arch format, it gives them time to really explore a topic without having to dedicate a whole season. And this season, with the exception of the first time traveling one, has been more interesting than most of the episodes from the last season.

What has kept me watching is that, and perhaps I'm not savy enough about acting, I've liked the acting. I've liked the characters much more than I ever liked any Voyager character. So I kept watching and giving it a chance and I haven't been wholly disapointed, just wish they'd gone in a little different direction. And now at least they appear to be producing interesting stories that are at least in part in the direction I had always hoped to see in the series.

2. Excellent episode tonight!!!
Summary of last two eps:

Earth embassy on Vulcan blown up by "terrorists."

Vulcan high command blames, actually frames, sect of Vulcans living in the desert who follow the teachings of Surak. They're pacifists.

Turns out, Vulcan has plans to invade Andoria and doesn't need the pesky pacifists getting in the way.

Sample dialogue:

Archer: When our people are attacked, we fight back!

T'Pau: (yes, the same T'Pau from Trek movies): You would traverse a vast wasteland based on false evidence?

3. Very good episode
Sitting here watching it with my cousing we both burst out in laughter when the Vulcan ambassador (the one that got fired, the name escapes me at the moment) revealed that the High Command were planning on a pre-emtptive war against Andoria because "intelligence" said they were developing dangerous weapons.

"Oh oh WMD's!" I burst out.

4. Yup, A Not So Subtle Reference To Bushco
This episode is a thinly veiled reference to the state of our country now I think. Vulcan high command=Bushco.

5. It was pretty good...
but I intend to judge the whole three episodes based on how they fit together.

You know how trek can often screw up the "and now the conclusion" episodes.
