Silver: Wonder Woman is close

Joel Silver, who is producing a proposed Wonder Woman movie to be written and directed by Joss Whedon (Serenity), told SCI FI Wire that Whedon has completed a new version of the script. "He's delivered a draft now that we're very happy with," Silver said in an interview at Comic-Con International in San Diego on July 21. "He's doing a kind of a polish now. But I think we're close, and I think that once we've got a script that we're all happy with, then we'll let the studio see it and see what they think."

Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is slated to helm a new film version of the classic superhero franchise, which Silver said he hopes to start soon. "I think it's all in the cards," he said. "If they like the script, then they'll let us make the movie. I mean, I don't want to make it unless we like the script. ... I hope that next year , we'll be talking about it." —Patrick Lee, News Editor

2. I'd consider this a non-starter, if Whedon didn't write it.
It's like dueling infinities. A deeply lame 70s TV show legacy, balancing off against a great writer.

4. The 70s show was inspired from the 1940s comic...
Season 1 of the TV show is campy but passable...

Season 2 starts 30 years later but retains the WW2 themes... until 13 or so episodes in. Then there's a huge format change to fully update it, nix the nazi stuff for good, and make it more far out with robots, aliens, and what else. THAT is when it really goes down, but I'll admit I still like the episode with Martin Mull brainwashing Eve Plumb...
