Poll question: Has STARGATE SG-1 jumped the shark?
Great show, but . . . after all these years, one has to wonder whether it has finally crossed the line from good to not-so-good, aka "jumped the shark."

2. I'm thinking the same thing...
Of course having Ben Browder coming in to the series can't hurt...

Keeping my fingers crossed!

3. Not Yet By Gum!
When Daniel ascended in season 5 I thought. Ok, they've got one, maybe two years left tops. Jonas joined, and while I didn't hate him and the season wasn't as great as the first five, it didn't suck. The story progressed, and I even came to like that season quite a bit. Daniel came back, it sat well on Sci-Fi...The seemed to have avoided the shark.

Then last season indications were that there was some franchise fatigue. Richard Dean Anderson moving to part time status, without a real replacement. Carter, Teal'c and Daniel still were active, but it felt like maybe the shark was being jumped. The show was still superb but as in the episode with the guy who was linked to ONeil represented..the crew was sort of getting...

"How many times can the Go'auld threaten the planet and it be interesting?"

Then I heard about Ben Browder coming on board and honestly i felt they might as well be hiring Ted McGinley. After watching the first episode though, I liked it. I wasn't even a farscape fan, so I'm not biased in that regard, but I enjoyed the teaming of Ben Browder, Claudia Black alongside Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge. It really seemed to work. I know that Black isn't staying and Tapping is coming back. Still if they pursue this new angle for a bit, the ancients/avalon thing...maybe finally have the furlings show up...hey...it's all good.

No shark in sight yet.

4. Jaffa Kree!
We'll see, I imagine that we'll find out quickly whether the new cast will be just the shot in the arm it needs to keep going strong, or the last gasps of a shark jumper. After seeing the premere, I have hope though, I think that Ben Browder and Claudia Black have the right mix of "taking themselves seriously while being absoutely ridiculous"-ness that works so well for Stargate.

5. Other. It jumped when Daniel descended the second time!
Daniel Jackson has become the Harry Kim of Stargate-1!

6. Sorry, but Farscape crew is SG-1's shark.
I loved Farscape, and like the actors who have come over to SG-1. But I'm afraid SG-1 has just lost it's formula.

Time to lay it to rest, imo.

7. After this past Friday's episode...
Bringing Samantha back and learning more about the new threat while developing the Ancient's sory...

I think it may be getting better. If so, what a coup for a series that has been around as long as this one has. I was prepared to hate the series from the start, but it still seems to be going strong.

8. I was weary at first but...
No I am beginning to see the shows underlying theme of the season and how it parallels the real world.

12. Thanks, Tom!
It's good to have finally joined! Although I've been lurking for about 4 years now, for some reason I never got around to actually joining or posting until now.

14. I missed all of Season Eight
And I was a little pissed when season 9 started, but the blues Brothers references have kept me going.

As good as ever, IMO, though I definately miss Jack.
