"A Scanner Darkly" Trailer Out, Looks Like Your Kind of Movie

For those unfamiliar, "A Scanner Darkly" is another story of drug addiction, identity crisis, and paranoia by the master of such tales, Philip K. Dick. This is another animated project from Richard Linklater, whose first was the phenomenal "Waking Life".

This one looks damn good, and very true to what you would envision while reading a PKD book. Only the presence of Keanu Reeves could kill this project, as it so often does, but I believe he is more than outweighed by the Winona Ryder factor.

1. Keanu can do good work...

as long as the character he's playing is one of the few he can do. I haven't read A Scanner Darkly, so I have no idea if this is the case here, but I hope that it will work out...

2. That's one of the best of Dick's books

In my opinion, anyway. One of my favorites.

I'm very skeptical about Reeves as the lead character.
