Joss Whedon wants WONDER WOMAN?
According to a scoop report published by Ain't It Cool News, FIREFLY/SERENITY creator Joss Whedon is supposedly in final negotiations with Warner Bros. to write and direct a WONDER WOMAN feature film -- if 20th Century Fox doesn't sign him to direct X-MEN 3, that is. While AICN cautions their readers that the scoop could prove to be a hoax, the scooper states that "this could break in the trades any day."

Is Fox now after The Joss to direct the third X-MEN film? Does Warner Bros. want the creator of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER to bring their Amazonian princess to the silver screen? Stay tuned for more as we know about it!

After being a fan of Buffy and Angel for years I can definitely see the possiblities in Joss doing this. He has the whole empowed female thing down to an art. He'd be perfect for this, and he wouldn't make it campy like so many other directors/writers would.

2. SWEET! Firefly is awesome and I've heard rave reviews for
Buffy (which I originally thought was just a dumb tv-made-from-a-movie-but-apparently-really-is-intelligently-written).

I've give a Joss-based Wonder Woman a chance. Readily.

3. who should play Wonder Woman?
Whedon is a great choice, as I'm pretty sure he's a comic book & D&D geek who'd do his best to give WW a worthy story.

Who should play Wonder Woman? Should Lynda Carter get a cameo at least?

Angelina Jolie?
Halle Berry?

4. I'd go for an unknown actress
or someone who has a limited background. That way you keep the egos and the salary down so that you can film several sequels, if it's successful. Also, when you look at people like Jolie or Halle you tend to think of them as Hallie and Jolie at this point. I'd rather see a relative newbie doing it so they can BECOME WW.

Now, of course, there are exceptions. Stewart as Prof X was just about the only choice. He was in just about everyone's mind from the start. However, I can't think of anyone who fits WW to a tee like he did with the Professor.

5. If it's Whedon, I'm hoping for Charisma Carpenter
She has said she wants to do it, and she has the...ahem... prerequisites for it.

And it would just be too cool if Lynda Carter were cast as WW's mom, Queen Hippolyta.

6. Didn't Charisma and Joss have a falling out?
I'm not up to date on my celeb gossip, but I heard that Joss was really mad at her because she kept her pregnancy a secret on Angel and then revealed it in the middle of the shooting season, forcing them to rewrite the entire season. Maybe they've made up or maybe I'm completely wrong, but this is what I heard.

But I agree with you, she'd be a great choice.

7. I didn't know that. To tell you the truth, I'm not a Buffy fan.
But Charisma Carpenter is undeniably hot.

9. It's Wonder Woman not Wonder Man
But seriously suggesting her is pretty limited in imagination in addition to going against mainstream tastes in both entertainment and women (most people think Xena sucks and think she's not there idea of "hot").

It's like people who want Kurt Russel to play Nick Fury. Just because they've already seen him as ANOTHER eye-patch wearing gruff, unshaven, armed-to-the-teeth, sci-fi anti-hero.

10. Yeah a huge long thread was started about this in the lounge, my thoughts
It can be pretty well predicted that an A-lister is not going to be his choice. If you look at all his casts of his movies and tv shows, he likes working with less known actors than your Angelina's, and Zeta-Jones's.

However it's kinda dumb to cast someone with NO star power.

Considering that DC has a young superman (both on TV and in the upcoming movie) and a young batman(who was always older than the other characters I believe in the comics) they should definetly go with an origin type story for Wonder Woman. I don't really know much about her but Lynda Carter was like 24 when she started out and wasn't she ALREADY Wonder Woman before the show started, in other words, it was written that she had already been the character prior to the history of the show. Anyway if they go with early-to-mid-20's they should go with Mandy Moore(who's really tall), who I read Joel Silver was in talks with.

If they go with 30-ish, Eva Mendes would be good. Or that Jolene chick from Star Trek who was on Jimmy Kimmel the other day.
