The true story of Easter
I just finished making it. I can hardly wait to see it after dark with the LED beam and top lights glowing and/or blinking in rainbow colors. I'm so excited.

Jesus is a flashlight keychain with the chain apparatus removed. I could make Him ascend by tying a thread through the little loop on his back and sticking the other end of the thread to the top surface of the beam.

It was easy to make. Using Aleene's Tacky Glue I glued two plastic bowls from Cafe Steamers microwave dinners onto a cheap plastic plate and sprayed-painted them silver. The beam is a tall upside down plastic drinking glass with LED blinkers in the base. http://blinkee.com/product.php?id=Pilsner%20Glass%20Rainbow%20Tall The spacecraft just sits loose on top of the glass so that the lights can be turned on and off. The disc at the top is also loose, and is an LED blinker too. http://blinkee.com/product.php?id=Tunnel%20Light%20Necklace

The base is a cork disc with dried Spanish moss glued to it. The glow-in-the-dark aliens are from a vending machine.

It had to be done. :-)

EDIT: I bought Jesus at Christian Dollar Store online. He was lots cheaper there than he was anywhere else I saw Him. I paid less than $20 for 6, incl. shipping, whereas at Amazon 6 would have cost me over $40 with shipping - which was higher than the total cost of the Jesuses Themselves.

16. Yes, the moss
is often used in model train layouts. I "borrowed" it from my husband's Spanish moss stash. He'll never miss it.

LOL, yes, next stop is faith and redemption - on Venus!

10. Have a Friend who is a private pilot,
when he received his license and bought a small plane, I went by the
local Catholic book store and bought a small plastic dash-board
stick on Jesus figure. I used a soldering iron to heat the elbows
and shoulders to move his outstretched hands to cover Jesus's eyes.

Yes Jesus did ascend into heaven numerous times until the glue gave out
and he fell to the floor.

12. A soldering iron, huh?
How innovative of you! I never think of things like that. Oh well, my Jesus's arms are one with his body, so I can't change their positions anyway.

"Beam me up, Gabriel..."

This reminds me of my Weird Hobby (building scale models).

Saw this last week and just had to have it, for old time's sake...
