If a computer program like cleverbot, ALICE, etc. were to post theist drivel in R/T...

2. Somehow that reminds me...
of a dream that I had just after the General Election in the UK last May. I dreamt that it was discovered that some of the new Conservative MPs were not real people, but artificial intelligence programmes 'programmed to be right-wing'. This led to a big legal debate about whether computer programmes are eligible to sit in Parliament!

5. Actually that's probably ALL they'd need to be Tory MPs
No need for the brain part, which makes the design problem simpler.

(Congratulations on your excellent command of British English, by the way!)

8. I spent my childhood and part of my adolescence in South Africa
It took me a long time to adjust to using "bums" to mean "tramps".

And I still put the full stop after the inverted commas.

9. I had to write one of these in an AI class
I didn't work much better than ALICE, but it was kind of fun to turn into a misanthropic phone sex worker. Trolling chatbots are actually more common than you think. Alt.atheism and alt.scientology are filled with them.
