Anyone else an IGNOSTIC Atheist?
That is, the belief that the notion of "god" is incoherent, meaningless, and is not useful for describing reality?

1. Well that's certainly true.
In fact, it can be seen as a by-product of other aspects of our thinking that are actually necessary for us to function. The need for children to follow instructions by rote. The logical fallacies built into our thinking about cause and effect just because a false positive is usually harmless while a false negative can be fatal. And there's our ability to see human attributes pretty much everywhere and our ability to imagine situations removed from our immediate attention. All that together = belief in gods.

2. I know a lot of ignostic theists
which is what my neighbors are. Or maybe they're deists. I do know I'm not the only heathen in this hood, and it warms the cockles of me heart.

IOW, they think the universe is probably self aware but it is as unaware of us as we are of its true nature, so any discussion of it is pointless, a viewpoint shared with most of the people in the world east of Suez.

They are good people and I am lucky to have them as neighbors.
