1. You forgot the Golden Rule
Something Good Happens = Thank God.

Something Bad Happens = It's Not God's fault.

And just in case that wasn't clear enough for you, if something disastrous and horrible happens it never has anything to do with God because:

1. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

2. God gave us free will to make bad decisions that we are responsible for. We would not appreciate life at all if we didn't have the free will to (pick one: rape, molest, abuse, murder).

3. God is testing us and we can't question him.

Any questions?

2. I love that picture sooo much
But hey, at least this Warner guy isn't superstitious:

"A lot of people believe 13 is an unlucky number," Warner said, "but I've kind of embraced it."

He added: "A lot of negative things come with the No. 13. My life is never dictated by superstitions. My faith is first and foremost. If you believe that God's in control, there is no reason to believe in superstitions."

That's number 13 in the list of "things you wish Christians wouldn't say when you have a mouthful of liquid".

3. Isn't Big Ben religious too?
For some reason I thought he was.

Oh, and Brady Quinn is a Republican. He actually campaigned for McCain.

6. I have no idea who these people are
I suspect it's something to do with oddly-shaped balls, but I'm not sure. If you mention sport, I may fall asleep.

9. That is not Big Ben
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 03:54 PM by TechBear_Seattle
Big Ben is the bell, not the clock and not the tower. :hi:

10. True, but generally people also refer to the clock/tower as Big Ben
It's like when someone says Frankenstein. Very few people think of the doctor, rather they think of the bolt necked monster created by the mad doctor.

I'm not saying anything, I'm just sayin'.

:)

4. Number 13?

Ah, here, have another hit of vintage American culture...

Back in the Sixties, members of Hell's Angels, other biker gangs and American hippies also "embraced" the number 13. That was shorthand for the 13th letter of the alphabet, "M." Which symbolized not a vintage German movie, as most of us modern godless aesthticists would think. But the Original Demon Weed...marijuana.
