After you watch the where they discuss the , watch this I found (turn up your volume) with some highlights of a "Purity Ball".

There were several things that jumped out at me, most notably the obnoxious use of the word "purity".

1. Well, we all know sex sullies daddy's perfect little dolly

and no man wants to think of some horny boy doing "that" to his precious little girl.

But single dates with Daddy? That's just plain wrong.

Something tells me things are going to change dramatically when the kid gets the braces off her teeth and grows a real figure. She's not going to be as attractive to Daddy and he's not going to be as attractive as boys who will offer her a little more than a cheap silver ring and lecture on the bible.

Unfortunately, she's not going to know anything about protecting herself, which is what all the studies are confirming.

I feel horribly sorry for these poor girls. I also feel a little sorry for the fathers, who are given false hope that their rigidly patriarchal thinking will somehow turn out right after thousands of years of going wrong for everybody else.

The bottom line for this stuff is that it doesn't work and it puts daughters at great risk for injury and death because it fails to inform them properly.

3. Great quote from the video

"..young women should remain virgins and pure sexually.." So where's the purity ball for boys? Oh that's right, they won't 'get their heart broken' if they have sex before marriage like the precious dainty girls.

Obviously no parent wants their daughter to get pregnant before she wants to be, if she ever wants to be. That's why my parents gave me the information I needed to not do so, including my mom getting me to the doc in high school for bcps. I'm sure my dad didn't like the idea of me having sex at that age but the fact is that teenagers are horny and will act accordingly. Have these parents already forgotten what it was like to be a teenager? I think most of this is fear. One part from the parents which is natural as ones' kids approach puberty. The other part from possible future husbands who don't want their wife to be able to compare them to anyone else.

I'd also like to note that if that girl who was in the horse barn rides horses a lot her hymen is probably gone anyway. The daughter of a former boss had hers gone after a balance beam fall in elementary school. But I hear they now can do surgery to give you a nice new one! :eyes:
