"Imagine No Religion" billboard in Denver
Put up by the Freedom from Religion Foundation, which is putting the sign up in various cities.

Local television Channel 2 (KWGN) ran a piece on it and asked for comments on their Web site. I posted a supportive comment. Later, they read some of the comments on the air. Mine wasn't included, but it was interesting that, of the three they did read, two were literate and well thought out comments supporting the billboard, while one was a lame and silly attack.

(That attack was: "Be careful what you wish for." And nothing else.)

2. Do you know where the billboard is in Denver?
Just out of curiosity, I'd like to drive by.

3. I didn't catch that part.
Only that it's in sight of the capitol.

The details might be on the TV station Web site (it's Channel 2 in Denver, KWGN), or on the organization's site -- www.ffrf.org, I think.

4. Here's a Denver Post article about the billboard
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_9524585

But it doesn't give the specific location, either.

11. Part of me likes the concept
but I'm not sure how effective that sign is.

I realize there is no one slogan that could quickly inspire skepticism, but I imagine that the vast majority of people who think about what the sign is asking imagine some horrifying post-apocalyptic murder world. Even the moderately religious probably picture anarchy.

Is that ridiculous? Yes, obviously. WE know it's ridiculous, but we aren't the ones who would most benefit from reading that sign.

9. Corner of West 14th Avenue and Fox Street - scheduled to be in place through July
From the Denver Post article - it's in the caption underneath the pic.

12. Way to go, Freedom from Religion Foundation
We should say, since they put the sign up and have been putting it in other cities as well.
