An atheist endorsement
Well the one outed atheist in congress has endorsed Obama: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5994776&mesg_id=5994776

Of course all atheist is line up and follow orders after all we're all part of one large organized conspiracy and we all so often act as one monolithic group. lol

In fact I switched to Obama when Edwards dropped out too. So I'm just playing around with this post don't mean to cast dispersions on anyone.

2. Funny, I think we all really wanted to like Clinton
because there she was, a woman-tough, funny and smart and cracking through the glass ceiling. Then her DLC campaign team got to work and she started voting stupidly in Congress and saying stupid things on the campaign trail, trying to appeal to the mythical GOP crossover voter more than her own party.

I sincerely hope she's the last candidate to have her campaign torpedoed from within by a DLC campaign team.

Edwards was forced out early in the game because the DLC thought that of course all his votes were white male votes and would go to the white establishment candidate, Clinton. The tone deaf DLC misread the party, as usual.

I'm not surprised Stark endorsed Obama, but I doubt that's the kind of endorsement he wants right now. Look at what the press did to him when Hamas representatives opined that he would be a better person to negotiate with.

All he needs are the sour old atheists at DU to endorse him. It's fortunate that we don't march in ranks and jerk our knees in unison. At least the gutter press won't be able to call him an atheist on top of being a fringe Christian and America hating Muslim.

3. I actually started out thinking I'd be voting for Clinton too
but you're right the DLC influence just derailed it, for me at least.

Too many Americans would knuckle under to the Taliban if the Taliban claimed Jesus instead of Allah.

That article advances a lot of the same arguments they used to defend segregation and other official state prejudices. There's also the pernicious myth that we were founded as a Christian country and there is some new movement by atheists to deprive Americans of their proud religious heritage. I guess it's not that surprising, since these people already live in a fantasy land.
