Do you ever just despair of finding intelligent life on Earth?
I swear, some days I just want to frigging give up. I get so TIRED fighting the battles against not just the shiny-eyed pod people among the religious zealots, but the fuzzy-thinking woo-woos, those stubbornly convinced that Republicans have a direct line to The Will of the Lawd (who lives in the troposphere somewhere)...

Goddammit. I'm tired. Maybe it's best if avian flu DOES kill us off, so intelligent life has a chance to evolve from some less contentious species.

1. You must be tired. Troposphere!?!? Sheesh.
I think you meant Ionosphere!! :dunce:

Everybody knows that de Lawd lives above the mesosphere. :eyes:

Get some sleep. Next week Art Bell is going to have a week long retrospective of "Mels Hole".

2. The whole idea of a Sky Gawd
is equally silly whether He (why would a god choose a single gender, anyway?) lives in the clouds or above them...but you know there are horned demons and dead people living below the earth's mantle! ;-)

I'm exhausted. I expect I'll be back in fighting trim after the election, but running for office has taken even more out of me than campaigning for other people!

3. What, running for office??
Haven't you heard? We aren't allowed to run for office. Remember GHWB declared, "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots". So, I guess that means elected office is out for us. :sarcasm:

Good luck in your run!

4. From H.L. Mencken
I've quoted this before:
